Bolder? We moved out of Colorado and Bolder is the most liberal city in the country.

Lived in Canyon City for five years. Be careful in that town. Trying to get any kind of work done by a contractor is almost impossible. It’s a prison town and it shows. Canyon City is in Fremont County.............14 prisons there.

Its called Canon City - with the tilde above the "o". It lies an hour west of me and when you exit the mountains, the first thing one sees is the state prison to one's left.

“The biggest town in Douglas is Castle Rock.”

Uh....Only if incorporation is a big deal for you.

Otherwise unincorporated Highlands Ranch comes in at about 90,000 folks.

Stay away from the Route 82 corridor from Glenwood to Aspen. It’s as liberal as the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

My hubby is in oil and gas and we live on the western slope. Those chinese rigs where shipped in 2005 and quickly broke down. There are no more chinese rigs or personel.

My most humble apologies. That is a good thing to be wrong on. How is oil shale doing?

Colorado Springs.

Stocked with christian conservatives and mega-churches along with very large Air Force base with lots of military families.

Just avoid downtown Denver and especially Boulder. Also, don’t do any big skiing town names like Aspen, Breckenridge, Vail or Creste Butte or Telluride. Big names attract liberals who want to commune with nature and prevent anybody else from following them there who might spoil the experience for them.

Most of the state is rural so you are just deciding how much city you want. But the Springs is a great place to start. But feel free to call the State GOP in CO and ask them!

The trendy mountain towns (Vail, Aspen etc) are the most annoyingly liberal. A little town outside of Boulder, called Nederland, is one of the most liberal places in the US.

But outside of that, most of Colorado is not oppressively liberal. As others have said, Colorado Springs is your best bet. Longmont is also good, possibly because its close to liberal Boulder, so its an alternative. The Western Slope (West side of Rocky Mountains) is also good, but there are not a lot of jobs.

Oddly enough, even Boulder, if you stay out of the university area, is much less goofy headed liberal than people expect. Boulder has a lot of high tech jobs, which attract your basic level headed population.

South of Colorado Springs is solidly Democratic, but in a traditional-blue-collar-union kind of way, not in a goofy leftist kind of way.

Anyone coming from NY probably won't think it's too cold or snowy.

Why, thank you! That sign I'm holding is my own creation. I was inspired by the official theme of the event we were Freeping - "Cut Global Warming Emissions 80% by 2050".

Guess I must have been spelling challenged when transcribing their catchphrase to my sign. Heh heh!

Liberals will just move to attractive Red states after fouling the blue states they lived in.

Exactly. But it's not just Liberals Dems. The RINOs who keep immigrating here, primarily from CA, seem to have more in common with the local Dems than the local GOP grassroots. Up here in Larimer County, the advantage in voter registration of (R) over (D) seems to grow larger yearly, yet the number of elections won by Dems at the statehouse level seems to grow in spite of that.

The Calif Republicans seem to mostly be economic conservatives and social liberals. So they are repelled by social conservative GOP candidates, and will cross over to vote for the Dems quite often. More than just vote for the Dems, many will publicly write letters supporting the Dems while pointedly identifying themselves as Republicans in the same letters. And they'll condemn the GOP candidate.

With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?

Like you said, they helped to foul their own state. Now they don't like the stench around them, so they look for an unspoiled state to move to. They come here and say, "That's better!" Then they proceed to help the local Dems foul this state as well. Eventually, when this place is fouled up beyond recognition, they'll bemoan it and wonder what the heck happened to ruin this place too. And they will never once think of looking in the mirror for the answer.
