After prison he can go to NY and get a drivers license. Oh wait. Maybe to another state now that Spitzer has given up his stupid scheme.

The laws need to be stricter, Manuel Cargua said. He plans to write President Bush, Well that's pointless.

know this for a fact fellow Americans.....our government leaders do not give a Dam, or a Fence, or a Wall, or relief from a foreign invasion. The people in DC are laughing at America, and Americans' plight.

All Americans must be PC, and all must worship at the alter of PC, even while our heads are being chopped off, and our chidren murdered..../s

To my fellow FReepers, my apology, but our children being murdered while our politicians laugh, angers me to no end. Again, fellow FReepers, my apology for my anger. My anger is not directed at FReepers. I truly wish more FReepers were in office, in DC.

what a dumba##.... there are already laws on the book.....about ILLEGAL ALIENS...the government just doesn't give a damn. They want taxes from us to pay for votes for the new democrat victim group and the stealing of elections by illegals. Cause you know that asking for ID only suppresses liberals and democrat votes, doncha know?

. The rino republicans just want minority status so they don't look such little pigs at the trough as they scam billions in earmarks as well.

screw 'em. wait till one of their little darlings gets killed in a head on collision or murdered and raped....well THEN it's gonna be serious.

So all you little people just STFU, pay taxes and vote for democrats and rinos that will NOT enforce our borders.

"This guy killed two people, and he got five years," Crystal's father, Manuel Cargua, said after the sentencing. ...The laws need to be stricter, Manuel Cargua said. He plans to write President Bush, Gov. Mike Easley and anyone else he can think of .... North Carolina recently strengthened DWI laws ....

5 years?!? WT...'heck'???
Here in IL he'd have gotten a minimum of 7 years for Vehicular Manslaughter, maybe 14 for the 2 deaths (not exactly sure on that part).

But writing Bush is useless it's a state issue. And if NC just 'toughened' the DWI law what was it before, a freaking $100 fine for killing someone???

Thank you for this outrage, George Bush. You are the leader of this nation. You, sir, should be leading the way.

However, this family now has their loss to endure. Politicians are scum, and Jorger, you are a huge disappointment.

Seems a tougher stand on the border would be in line here. A tougher DUI law doesn’t stop Manuel from living and driving illegally. I wonder about these folks sometimes.

1. Wow that dude in the pic does not look 19!

2. From the article: “Balderas could face deportation back to Mexico”

The author seems to have left out WHY that is.

A great possibility if the experience of the police in Charlotte, NC
is looked at.
After a year or so of checking (and acting upon) the immigration
status of arrestees/detainees, the police were themselves suprised
at a number of them were illegals they'd caught and had deported
earlier in the year.

IIRC, Charlotte got tough when a popular husband and wife were
hurt (one dead, one gravely injured I think) when they got slammed
into by an illegal immigrant driver.

(And, the police are color-blind on this policy; they said that
of their deportees, about 10 percent are not from Mexico or
points south.)

North Carolina is still giving illegals drivers licenses. The governor of the state (North Carolina) lied in his last campaign for governor about this issue and the old media will not call him on it. gov. easley gives out drivers licenses like they are candy in N.C. and nearly none in the state (the citizens) know this fact. easley is a demonrat, and the media covers for him. Who would have thought this would be the case...../s

If it was about PC, we might stand a chance. But what we’re up against is the demand for cheap labor and the politicians who have been bought off to provide it, and that’s a tougher nut to crack.

I keep reading about drunken illegals killing Americans. The illegals seem to get 2-5 years. Ramos and Compean got what? 10, 11 years for what they did?

Americans have become disposable.

my though is Americans were primed with PC for the time when the politicians told us to bend over. I agree, this nation does have a tough nut to crack.

'Tougher DWI law'

So, in response to the actions of a creep who shouldn't be in this country to begin with, we'll throw a law-abiding American citizen who had a glass of wine at a restaurant in jail to make us feel better. Yep, that's the ticket.

How 'bout throwing the g*dd*mn wetbacks out of the country first? That made me feel better ... but then again, I'm a xenophobic nativist.

Yeah, I forgot that. Thanks for the reminder.

And since that's the case if I was the families I'd sue him (Easley) in Federal Court - at least try to for Civil Rights violations (people have sued for less).
