British woman banned from entering New Zealand because she is too fat

A British woman planning to start a new life with her husband in New Zealand has been banned from entering the country - because she is too fat.

Rowan Trezise, 33, has been left behind in England while her husband Richie, 35, has already made the move down under leaving her desperately trying to lose weight.

When the couple first tried to gain entry to the country they were told that they were both overweight and were a potential burden on the health care system.

Robyn Toomath, a spokesman for New Zealand's Fight the Obesity Epidemic and an endocrinologist said that obese people should not be victimised, but agreed with the restrictions.

"The immigration department can't afford to import people who are going to be a significant drain on our health resources.

"You can see the logic in assessing if there is a significant health cost associated with this individual and that would be a reason for them not coming in."

But that was pretty skinny.

If you are going down this path then be prepared to have government look over every aspect of your life so you aren’t a burden to the state, i.e. how much garbage you produce, what you eat, have sex with, how much you drive, your DNA, etc.......

Being fat is not a victimless crime. Think about a fat person's family. Who's going to wheel them around when they get diabetes and their feet fall off? Who's going to support them when they can't work? What about children robbed of their parents when they die in their 50's of a heart attack?

My sister works for a company that is screening for cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, etc. Tell me, how many of those things are hereditary? How many medical conditions can impact those numbers?

For example, my sister had a hysterectomy and has struggled to find the right hormone replacements. She is 5’6” and weighs 150 lbs. and is considered overweight. My question is, according to who? Government does not belong in this business.

The picture of Hillary's supporters in Iowa showed a large ( :-) ) majority in the audience who would classify as "obese" by government standards.

If they knew they could be refused health care coverage under socialized medicine would they still support her? I think not.

The smokers and overweight people need to join forces and get a nasty attitude towards nanny state politicians.
