>British woman banned ...

---------------------------------------------------------

Do you see what they are
Do you hear what they say
People it is sad but true
They're dressed really stupid
But they think they're O.K.
And they got no use for you
The dead girls of London
Why do they act that way?

Maybe it's the water, mama
Maybe it's the tea
Maybe it's the way they was raised
Maybe it's the stuff what they read in the papers
Keeps them lookin' sorta half in a daze
The dead girls of London
Why do they act that way?

We're the dead girls of London
We thinks we are fine
We ain't hittin' on nothin'
But the boutique frame of mind

You see 'em dancing at the disco every night
Like a bunch of little robot queens
Making little noises full of fake delight
But they're really just so full of beans
The dead girls of London
Why do they act that way?

We're the dead girls of London
We thinks we are fine
We ain't hittin' on nothin'
But the boutique frame of mind

Boutique frame of mind
Gee I like your pants
Boutique frame of mind
Gee I like your pants
Boutique frame of mind
Gee I like your pants

New Zealand officials assess people's weight using Body Mass Index which measures fat by comparing the height and weight of an individual.

Mr Trezise, a submarine cable specialist and former member of the army said his BMI was measured at 42 making him well over the limit of 25 which is regarded as overweight.

This is ridiculous.

I just want to the BMI index and put in my numbers.

For me to be at "25" limit I would need to weight 165 lbs which I have not weighted since I was about 14 years old.

Even when I was in my prime health and had a 32 inch waist with very little fat, I would have been slightly over weight with a BMI of 30

"How rude. Have you looked in the mirror lately?"

Thank you! Why is it that ageism, sexism, racism and religious bigotry are all bad, but insulting the obese is just fine?

but BMI is a silly thing to use as your be all end all measurement.

But it is a measurement the central gov’t can use.

When I was a grad student studying nematodes, one of the ways to identify the type was to cut it’s rear end off and press it on a slide. The patterns you saw, determined it’s classification. I always that that would be a good way to classify people.................................

Employers can discriminate against smokers (health risk)

Employers will discrimenate against overweight (health risk)

Employers may not discriminate if you are a high risk for AIDS homo.

Have we now . . .

joined the liberals . . . and

resurrected gluttony from one of the 7 deadly sins

into a cause celebre?

God have mercy.

I don’t have a great deal of room to talk at 6’ 1” and 190lbs . . .

But one of my shocks on returning to the USA after 15 years was the vast increase in very obese people struggling to get all their bulk to perch on chairs at the all-you-can-eat buffets since they wouldn’t begin to fit in the booths.

At some point, there’s little excuse for the excesses we have become addicted to . . . the excesses we have become.

And defending brazen self-indulgent sin is not an answer.

NZ is not a huge country. I don’t cheer all their socialized hogwash. But this boundary is a sensible one.

I wonder how many of the carping ones on this thread are how many collective pounds over weight.

This needs a huge Nanny State/ Conformity alert.

Her being over weight ins’t the problem. Expecting everyone to fit under Government health care is. Next they’ll be checking people’s DNA to see if there’s a problem.

Piss on New Zealand.

You can't change your age, sex and race. You can lose weight. Being overweight shows a lack of willpower and self-esteem.

People should be free to be fat. At the same time people should be able to discriminate against it, just like any other *character* defect.

Because age, sex, and race are outside our control. Fat is not. Eat less, move more...repeat as required.

And yes, I know what I look like. I'm not skinny, but not so fat a country would refuse me entry!

I gotta gal that’s mighty sweet, With blue eyes and
tiny feet. Her name is Rosabelle Magee, and she tips
the scale at three o three, Oh!
Gee- but ain’t it grand to have a girl so big and fat
that when you hug’er
You don’t know where you’re at you
Have to take a piece of chalk in your hand and
hug a way and chalk a mark to see where you began,

One day when I was a huggin and a chalkin and a chalkin
and a huggin a way. When I met another fella with
some chalk in his hand, Com-in’ around the other way ‘round
the mountain. Comin’ around the other way.

Nobody ever said I’m weak. My bones don’t ache and my joints
creak. But I I grow absolutely limp, Ev-’ry time I kiss my
baby blimp, Oh!

One day I had a yen for some one leaner, she was meaner than a
mink in a pen. So I left her now I’m happy as a fella could be
Huggin and chalkin in once a gain ‘round my Rosie
Huggin and chalkin in once again.

One day I was a huggin and a chalkin and a beggin’ her to be my bride
When I met another fella with some chalk in his hand
Comin a round the other side of the mountain
Comin around the other side.

Although she can always opt to lose the weight if she truly does want to live her remainder in NZ.

You are right. I didn't say NZ should let her in, they have the right of refusal since she is not a citizen.

My point was more toward where I see the USA heading in the treatment of it's own citizens.

On the point of permanent overweight-ness, I agree to a point. Some people do have the deck stacked against them in terms of genetics or injury. I know a guy who has always been a big person (as in Paul Bunyan). He was big, muscular, and athletic when young. He injured both knees at about 18 years old. Now he's about 60 years old and about 300 pounds (a good part of that is still brawny muscle), mostly because his knees have limited his mobility for his entire adult life. The man is an engineer and creates greatly to the economy by his work. He easily produces more economic value than he is costing in healthcare.

I honestly don't see how it is anyone's business but his own. Hillarycare will not be kind to him because of the socialist "public interest" factor. He could have the mind of Einstein, producing billions for a company. But he will be deemed a dreg not worthy of care by the company benefit bean counters or Hillarycare bureaucrats.

In the present system, at least he can choose where to go for medical care and even pay for it himself if he chose. Under Hillarycare, he will be legally prevented from going to a Dr. at his own expense.

“When the couple first tried to gain entry to the country they were told that they were both overweight and were a potential burden on the health care system.”

Free healthecare and a free country isn’t possible.

Awww... you want me to remove sloth and gluttony from the 7 deadly sins just for you?

If you want a pity party go to DU or Daily kos. I'm sure there are plenty of fat people over there who will be happy to comfort you and enable your victim mentality.
