Clinton's years at Yale Law are key to her political development (Barf Alert)
Belleville News-Democrat ^ | Nov. 22, 2007 | MATT STEARNS, McClatchy Newspapers

NEW HAVEN, Conn. --All that Hillary Rodham Clinton would become -- all that inspires her allies and her enemies alike -- emerged during her years roaming the Gothic buildings of Yale Law School.

She helped edit a journal that included cartoon police-pigs and that published a self-aggrandizing essay by a Black Panther who'd been convicted of murder. Yet she also helped calm a politically inflamed campus.

She nurtured an interest in using the law to aid the needy -- especially children -- that remains integral to her politics, but which opponents use to pummel her values. . . .

Hillary Rodham arrived at Yale in 1969 a minor celebrity, thanks to her commencement speech at equally elite Wellesley College outside Boston, where she rebuked a senator who was sitting nearby. . . .

Years later, Rhodeen learned that Rodham's mother had been abandoned by her parents and, at age 8, put in charge of her 3-year-old sister on a cross-country train to live a Dickensian existence with relatives. . . .

In the summer of 1971, Rodham worked at an Oakland, Calif., law firm at which at least two partners had been members of the Communist Party; one, Robert Treuhaft, had been a leading lawyer for the party. The firm previously had defended Black Panthers.

"In the summer of 1971, Rodham worked at an Oakland, Calif., law firm at which at least two partners had been members of the Communist Party; one, Robert Treuhaft, had been a leading lawyer for the party. The firm previously had defended Black Panthers."

This barely begins to describe the situation - young Shrillery eagerly aided "Black Panthers" guilty of the most horrific torture and murder, she eagerly chose to align herself with the far-left forces seeking to overthrow America, she showed her staunch communist "New Left" sympathies...... we're supposed to be grateful just because she did not join the violent Weather Underground but preferred to take the "long march through the institutions" that Mao-loving New Leftists talked about????

Did she ever release her report card? They "seem" to have skirted over her grades in the article.

BTW, you must be commended. This puff piece really defines the term Barf Alert!

"Hillary did what nowadays would be international summitry -- flying back and forth between sides," maintaining credibility with all, impressing faculty and fellow students ...

Gee! Is this not the same thing she does today?

Is it not called "doubblethink" as George Orwell described it?

George Orwell coined the term doublethink in his classic novel 1984. Doublethink is the power to hold two completely contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accept both of them. "To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself.

Her own child was left with babysitters while Hillary trapsed back and forth from Arkansas to D.C. while Bubba was governor. She played an active role in Bubba's office plus worked at the Rose Law Firm

No doubt... she needed a village to care for Chelsea.

More important, I wonder what effect the following had (and perhaps continues to have) on Hillary: “Rodham’s mother had been abandoned by her parents and, at age 8, put in charge of her 3-year-old sister on a cross-country train to live a Dickensian existence with relatives”

She is a radical liberal. She was then and she still is.

I think a big difference between liberals and conservatives is that the conservatives are willing to take stands on the issues and state their convictions. And the conservatives try to persuade others to their points of view.

Liberals do not want to state their stands on issues. They want to hide what they truly believe because they fear not being elected if they level with people about their beliefs.

What values does Hillary have? She wants to represent today’s modern career woman, but stayed in an abusive marriage. She wants to break the glass ceiling and be president, but she wouldn’t be in this position except for the man she married. She doesn’t want to be honest about what she stands for as she stands for election. She wants to take credit for the achievements of the Clinton administration, but no blame for any failures of Bill’s presidency.

Many people went to Yale and law school and did internshps. This does not mean Hillary is either qualified or capable. Also, several of her bosses would not recommend her. Now, that says a lot.

“Liberals have to hide what they truly believe or they won’t get elected” [paraphrase]

How true. And yet Bill Moyers and others like to claim that there is a liberal majority in our society simply because sooner or later everyone is going to draw Social Security or Medicare while riding on Interstate highways.

But there is no such Left majority and Herself The Flying Buttress knows it.
