The best athletes expect to continue to the next level, at which they can secure their fortune. Therefore, any team which wants to attract the best athletes must show that it can help those athletes along the way to that destination.

Therefore, any team which wants to win and believes the athleticism of its players contributes to its likelihood of victory will care about the sort of football played at the professional level.

That is not necessarily true. Ask Urban Myer. In fact, the opposite is true. At least that is what he says anyway. I saw him speak about two years ago and the problem he first encountered at Florida was that the players were only concerned with going to the next level instead playing as a team and winning football games.

Horsesh1t.

The huskers got 3 national championships with running plays and option quarterbacks that never went anywhere after college.

Now they are using the west coast offense with an NFL coach paid millions per year and what do they get? THE worst season in 30 years.
