RE: A nice book (and plenty expensive according to Amazon.com!) that I
checked out from the local library a few months ago.
(Good thing I didn’t lose it!)
The book has a lot of nice photos of the jewels and some of the Faberge
Easter Eggs; there’s also a bit about the “missing” jewels...
the ones that didn’t go on sale when the Commies were trying to raise
money a few years after The Revolution.
And haven’t yet been found/accounted for.

And especially in the editorial chambers at the New York Times...

Yes, particularly in the history department of any university or college.

Nope, not the end. Hillary is here.

No doubt Mrs. Clinton is a socialist. But how would she deal with a belligerent Russia? Would she invite Putin for a sleep-over in the Lincoln bedroom?

Thanks for the Ping. I have been following this story since I was a child and have read almost all the books on the subject.

I would highly recommend Anastasia: The Riddle of Anna Anderson by Peter Kurth and any of the excellent books by Edvard Radzinsky.

The girl on the far right looks like someone I’ve seen before, but cannot place where. May be an actress...or may be one of my relatives.

I just wish the correct term, murdered, would be used.Executed implies having been convicted of a crime.

At least we can hope the Romanovs,as members of the Church, will have their reward in Heaven. And the murdering thugs that abused a nation and reason face the Almighty's judgment.

I do agree there, it is sad they had to die that way, so sick and ruthless. I know in my family history, my great, great grandfather was part of the Red Army at that time and some say he knew Lenin. He did tell his son "to get out of Russia" so he did and my great grandfather served in the U.S. Army in World War I.

Still if I was around then or somehow went back in a DeLorean, I would end up fighting my great, great grandfather's forces since I would have sided with the Tsar. I see Tsar Nicholas as a decent man, but he got caught up with the events of the time and was indecisive. It was sick and rotten what the Communists did to them, in my mind, they are the flip side of Adolph Hitler.
