LONDON'S Metropolitan Police has been forced to spend £15,000 ($34,855.35) creating "ethnically diverse" mascots after complaints about a model deemed too white and too male.
Met chief Sir Ian Blair ordered the new politically correct (PC) models after an Asian officer complained about...Steve, the mascot produced to visit schools to promote the police force.
...Steve was white, with blue eyes and blond hair... leaving Asian and women officers "isolated"...
Blair, in a written response to the London Assembly, said the Met's diversity unit would be tasked with creating new models.
"These characters will be more representative of London's population..." he said.
...Some believe the decision smacks of political correctness gone too far....

So when Asian and/or female officers are staring down the barrel of some criminal's gun, will they feel "isolated" when white, blond-haired, blue-eyed backup arrives?
Does anyone now doubt that the UK is a country in decline? I wonder how long they will last before they are defeated and overrun.

How coincidental. Thats what was communicated to me when I applied for employment with the SFPD albeit in a very PC fashion. The quote was “San Francisco is a multicultural ethnically diverse city and we like our officers to reflect that.” and was repeated at least x 2. I guess you could add too heterosexual’ to the mix as well. In retrospect I consider myself lucky I never worked for them
In Britain, "Asian" signifies Middle Eastern, not Southeast Asian. They'd use the term "Oriental" for someone we'd call "Asian". I'm thinking the complainer was not a white Amish guy.
Political Correctness seems to be a problem across the whole Western world. We Brits just currently make more of a fuss when stories like this come out as the UK has been relatively late to the PC party. I love the US, but you guys invented this trend. I remember reading such stories about events in the US years ago. Apparently a British author was recently told that his book would have to be changed for US audiences as the villain was written as being the son of a hair dresser: and some might take that as being a slur on gays!

No it doesn’t it generally denotes South Asian descent - Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi etc descent. Not Middle Eastern.
Gee, what would the response be if the complaint was, “The mascot is too black and too female.”
It’s obvious that the left wants to eliminate White males. It’s interesting to hear them admit it.
He’d probably have a problem with McGruff the Crime Dog too.
