I like Alan Keyes... but if Fred was “late” by not entering the race in July, how can a December start be reasonable for Keyes?

I guess his speaking engagement requests have slowed down.

I thought they were going to limit the debate to those to over 5% in the polls?

What is the point? Keyes is a fine man, but he need not be in the race. Why doesn’t the guy get elected to Congress? He’d be a great hell-raiser on the floor. :)

I am a long time supporter of Dr. Keyes, the man and his ideas for America. IMHO, Dr. Keyes is not a serious candidate for the office, rather making sure with his throwing his name in the hat, that Republicans/Americans don't forget and give up on the principles that founded this great nation.
If nothing else he, with the little mic time he gets, will certainly make his points passionately.
I am supporting Fred Dalton Thompson this time around but welcome Dr. Keyes into the debate.

After his disastrous run for Senate against Obama, I have a very hard time taking this man seriously anymore.

I would say that less than 1% of the voting electorate have any clue that he’s running.
More bloviating from Keyes when the serious contenders could use the time. It’s turning into another Keyes Carnival.

Prediction: Keyes will be asked a few questions, then interrupt others to answer questions not directed to him.
Taking the spotlight to speak is a favorite of Keyes. He wants and needs the limelight.

I used to like the guy but now I think he’s just plain nuts. Running for President is not a lifetime occupation for normal people.
