Saudi Arabian Justice: 136 Beheadings, Jail for Rape Victim
Arutz Sheva -- IsraelNational News ^ | 11/27/7 | Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) Saudi Arabia not only continues to deserve its title as the world's "beheading capital," but has now also sentenced a rape victim to 200 lashes.

On Sunday, Saudi Arabian authorities carried out the kingdom's 136th beheading of the year, surpassing by far its combined totals for the two previous years. The latest victim was a man convicted of murdering another with an assault rifle.

Saudi Arabia often defends its practice of beheading by explaining that it follows an interpretation of the Quran by which the crimes of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery are punished by public execution with a sword.  Those convicted of sodomy, apostasy and certain other offences can also be beheaded in the kingdom.

Nearly 40 people were beheaded in Saudia Arabia in 2006, including four women, and between 83 and 90 the year before, including two women.

Rape Victim Sentenced to 90, Then 200, Lashes
Just a week earlier, a woman who was gang-raped over a year ago in the Saudi capital of Riyadh was sentenced to six months in jail and 200 lashes.  Her crime: Being in the car of a man who was not a relative.

She had initially been sentenced to 90 lashes on charges of violating the rigid Saudi laws on segregation of the sexes. However, the number of lashes was more than doubled because of her "attempt to aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media," ArabNews reported.  Her lawyer's license to practice law was confiscated, and he has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing, after expressing public criticism of the original verdict.

The seven men convicted of raping the 19-year-old were not beheaded, but rather sentenced to between two and nine years in prison.  Three of the convicts were also convicted of raping her male companion.

The Saudi Arabian flag features a sword underneath the Arabic inscrption, "There is no G-d but Allah, and Muhammad is his Messenger."

"We don't have a homosexual problem in Saudi Arabia".

No wait, that was Iran.

follows an interpretation of the Quran by which the crimes of murder ... are punished by public execution with a sword.

Gee, then why aren't terrorists and jihadists beheaded in public?

The seven men convicted of raping the 19-year-old were not beheaded, but rather sentenced to between two and nine years in prison.

But I thought rape was a crime that, as said earlier in the article, was to be punished with a beheading, as stated in the Koran.....

These Arabs are contradicting themselves...

On the list of things I want to see first hand before I die:

A) A nuclear explosion,

B) An intra-legal beheading, and

C) The demise of islam.

Damn, they beat us!

In 2000 we had our best year with 40 Texecutions in my state alone. In the US all together we’re running around half of what they are. Of course if all states followed through with capital punishment as Texas does, we’d beat them!

I don’t know about beheading, seems a little messy to me. Personally I really do believe hanging is the way to go. The electric chair, guillotine, as is lethal injection are no more than overpriced and over engineered attempts to make an execution more mechanical, more automated, and scientific. Let’s take a bunch of nerds and ask them how to best wring the bird’s neck. Something everyone knows how to do at age 12. Hanging is fast, clean, cheap and painless. It’s not modern and sexy, but it’s the most practical way to execute.

Well, a certain amount of fear concentrates the mind, and improves the aim.

Some of their executions are no different from ours except their method a bit more graphic though a clean beheading is as humane as Sparky or Gas....and saves the state on Potters Field plots and coffin wood.

Bet their trials are “interesting”

But some of their stuff.....is incredible arcane logic...they really take the adage she asked for it to the extreme

it might work for some I agree but I prefer the 325 to 375 rounds of centerfire ammo I send down range once a week to improve concentration and aim. that along with Clint Smith’s and Mas Ayoob’s training has eliminated any “fear” that might have been present one hell of a long time ago. substitute “prepared” in lieu of fear and I can go for that. the hell with these carpet flyin’ muslim savages.

Maybe, but everyone I've talked to that has "seen the elephant" says that if you say aren't afraid in such situations, you are lying.

Fear is not the same as panic. Training such as you indicate helps keep the natural, and healthy, fear from becoming panic or even just a distraction from the job at hand, leading to ineffectiveness.

Personally I'd just as soon never meet that elephant, but if it comes to me or mine, well, I'll be afraid, but don't intend to panic or be distracted either. (I'm a bit old to go seeking it out, but I raised my right hand and said I would if ordered. I'm afraid they don't have much use for fat old former captains (O-3))

Thanks for coming to my aid! I’m not necessarily afraid they will come here, but if the politically correct got their way, who knows?
