What Huckabee immigration record was that? I’m not a supporter yet but certainly thinking about it.

More of Huckabee's record on immigration:

"2006: Supported President Bush’s immigration plan and claimed that opposition to Bush’s proposal was driven by “racism or nativism” and that it wasn’t amnesty. (Ralph Hallow, “Huckabee ‘Serious’ About Presidency,” Washington Times, 5/17/06) "

This bit of info has all ready been brought up here.
It’s slanted goods, just good ole boys fighting over state bills.

More support for Illegal Aliens from the Huckster:

"Wrote in his 2007 book that implementing strict enforcement of immigration laws “would be sheer folly” and that it made sense to give “those here illegally a process through which they pay a reasonable fine in admission of their guilt for the past infraction of violating our border laws and agree to adhere to a pathway toward legal status and citizenship.” (Mike Huckabee, From Hope to Higher Ground, 2007, p. 117-118)"

“I’ll be watching Huckabee too on immigration. It seems to me though he is believable. All we can do is hold him responsible for what HE says and does.”

If the polls in Iowa and Florida are right, Huckabee does look like he has a good chance at the nomination. We’ll see, I suppose.

I think illegal immigration is important, and if it’s not addressed by the next president or there’s amnesty...I fear our country will find itself in a different sort of path.

One that divide and is self-destructive.

More historical evidence of the Huckster's support for Illegal Aliens:

"Opposed a raid on illegal immigrants in an Arkansas poultry plant even though calls to his office were “about 1,000 to one” against his stance. (Melissa Nelson, “Huckabee Risks Political Fortunes To Denounce Immigration Raid,” Associated Press, 8/5/05)"

And more proof of the Huckster's support for Illegal Aliens:

"When Republican state senators in Arkansas proposed legislation modeled after Arizona’s Proposition 200 [to require proof of citizenship for voting and public benefits], “Huckabee described it as ‘inflammatory … race-baiting … demagoguery.’ He said the bill, which seeks to forbid public assistance and voting rights to illegal immigrants, ‘inflames those who are racist and bigots and makes them think there’s a real problem. But there’s not.’” (Governor says anti-illegals measure could scare off companies like Toyota,” A ssociated Press, 2/3/05)"

Getting hotter keep digging.

And still more proof of Huckabee's strong support for Illegal Aliens:

"Championed an effort in Arkansas to give in-state tuition at state colleges and taxpayer-funded scholarships to illegal immigrants, similar to the DREAM Act proposal at the federal level. (Laura Kellams, “Senators research U.S. law on aliens,” Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 1/27/05) "

I agree with you. I just think that after the Total rejection that Bush received over his immigration policy, everyone including Huckabee will have to take immigration
seroiusly and sharpen their positions. I think Huckabee heard the call.

That sort of stuff is hard to spin. Either Huckabee said that or he didn’t.

“The DUmmies are underestimating Huckabee. He’s a very engaging speaker, has a great sense of humor, very witty and quick on his feet. He has a lot of charisma. More like a Reagan than a Dole by a long shot, in terms of appeal.”

The lib media are promoting Huckabee because they know he’ll guarantee a DEM win. I get the distinct impression that they’re really, really afraid of Romney.

And some more:

"I tend to think that the rational approach is to find a way to give people a pathway to citizenship. You shouldn't ignore the law or ignore those who break it. But by the same token, I think it's a little disingenuous when I hear people say they should experience the full weight of the law in every respect with no pathway, because that's not something we practice in any other area of criminal justice in this country... To think that we're going to go lock up 12 million people, or even round them up and drive them to the border and let them go, might make a great political speech, but it's not going to happen. What should happen, however, is exactly what I think the president has proposed, and that is that we create a process where people make restitution for the fact they have broken the law."[16]"

Nope, this is his record. He either will be honest about it and admit it, or he, and the less scrupulous of his supporters, will continue to spin, and lie, and try to tell everyone that the big Pink Elephant in the corner just really doesn't exist.
