Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday reiterated his rejection of Israel's demand to recognize it as a Jewish state.

"From a historical perspective, there are two states: Israel and Palestine. In Israel, there are Jews and others living there. This we are willing to recognize, nothing else," Abbas told reporters before leaving for Saudi Arabia.

Abbas, on behalf of his constituents, just wants to be able to say, not that he recognized the Jewish state, but that "History records there was once a Jewish state." The latter is all that to which he wishes to be held.

Answer this one. What would the Middle East be like if Israel did not exist or if the Jews moved out of the Middle East? From what I see, everything over there is aimed at the Jews. The Middle East is against us because we support Israel. I heard this question asked and it really made people think. I don’t know what the answer is but it’s interesting.

Abbas is following Arafat’s line. It doesn’t sound as if there is anything further to negotiate about, except the date of the next outbreak of violence. Is it possible that even Condi and George might understand that?

Oh my gosh, that picture is hideous. To think that I used to really like and respect her.

President Bush needs to read his bible about a Palestinian State, never happen and if it does it will only mean more trouble for Israel.

Surely Israel isn’t stupid enough to trust a Muslim.

The Pali’s:
“You know that wasteland that you were banished to and worked tirelessly to rehabilitate?”
“We want it now.”
“Remember in 1967 when 5 Arab countries were preparing to attack you, but you surprised them and kicked their butts?”
“It’s only fair that you give that land back, so we can use it again for a better planned attack on you.”

What would the Middle East be like if Israel did not exist or if the Jews moved out of the Middle East?

The remaining Arabs would squabble over the land. Other grievances would arise, of course, because the arabized moslem culture is a pathological mess.

Wanting to kill a teacher because her class named a teddy bear mohammed, had nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with the fact that moslems are mental cases.

There can’t be a Jewish state, but there can be a muslim state?

In fact, several of them, which base their laws on Sharia?

How about Saudi Arabia—no other religion is permitted.

Me too. Now I look at it as the funnel in which we pour Billions to support terrorists.

The Middle East is against us because we support Israel.

It's not quite that clear-cut.

The Middle East is against us because of who we are.

And, because of who we are, we support Israel.

If we stopped supporting Israel, we would no longer be who we are. And the Middle East would hate us still.

She has been the biggest disappointment. She obviously knows nothing abiout the Middle East and in her field of sypposed expertise, the former Soviet Union, she has produced nothing except poor results. I was appalled when she, as a black person, identified with the Palestinians. which by implication played the Israeli government on the side of Bull Conners et al.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday reiterated his rejection of Israel's demand to recognize it as a Jewish state.

Who does Israel think they are anyway?

Just because they are a recognized sovereign nation doesn't give them the right to make demands to those who thrive upon making demands themselves. /s

Israel is hatred because of what it represents: western style democracy. For much the same reason, they are trying to blot out Lebanon, which is the closest thing to an Arab democracy, and to prevent anything like Democracy from emerging in Iraq. Neither our own elites nor those of Europe have any trouble accepting the autocracies of the Middle East. They have made a devil’s bargain with the oil barons.
