“...and the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob is powerless or a liar.”

Neither. His plan is still in effect, it will play out according to HIS will.

The underlying issue here is that intrinsically this is not an issue that can be settled peacefully, at least from this point onward.

2 culturally, ethnically (to some degree) and politically divergent groups contesting the same territory, including specific named sites of (even worse) religious importance.

It is clear to me that this is the kind of problem that WAR is meant for, and I mean don’t mean CNN kindler-gentler war which the West now fights, but war until one group is convincingly defeated and expelled. I don’t think the current situation can be solved by simply conquering and controlling a hostile populace. This (conquest of a hostile populace) in fact has been done through much of recorded human history, but the level of brutality required to assert control and the access to modern weaponry which make any peasant a viable asset for an attrition war, along with the mass indoctrination of the last generation of muslims in the conquered areas of Israel, would seem to preclude any sort of benign conquest. Maybe I am wrong and overwhelming military defeat of the adjacent parties would do it, but I am pretty sure Israel would have ongoing insurgency problems beyond what is reasonable from a conquered population.

Mass expulsion of a given ethnic group (now given the euphemism ‘ethnic cleansing’) is horrible at the human level, with large-scale atrocities and suffering which any balanced person would find disturbing at some level, BUT once done, it would prevent further conflict in a given area because the weaker party is no longer around to fight.

Unfortunately in this case, Israel’s external enemies at this point are either nuclear or nearly-so, with access to who knows what chemical weapons.

I used to like Condi Rice too, and now I see her as an absolute failure , and I can not wait until she leaves.
She is the reason that Israel never did get their kidnapped soldiers back. She expects Israel to give, and for the Palestinians to give nothing but terrorism.

I just lost respect for Condi Rice. I’m opposed to posing for pictures with terrorists with a picture of the king of double-talking terrorists as a backdrop.

Israel should announce a boycott of the negotiations. If the purported Palestinian moderate, Mahmoud Abbas, is unwilling to recognize Israel as the Jewish State, there is nothing to talk about.

Answer this one. What would the Middle East be like if Israel did not exist or if the Jews moved out of the Middle East?

One thing is for sure, the area would be little more than deserts, interspersed with salt marshes infested with mosquitoes, which it what it was before Israel was created. Now it's the only productive country in the middle east, with the exception of arab and muslim countries that export oil and terrorism, which seem to be all they're capable of producing. And it seems that they can only produce oil with the help of the west... On the other hand, the terrorism they can produce quite well on their own...

Israel is a center of learning and agriculture, a shining diamond in the wasteland of the cult of death.

But even if there were no Jews in the middle east (which is stupid, because Jews HAVE lived in what is now Israel for thousands of years, even though for most of those years, they've been subjugated,) the arabs and muslims would have plenty to keep themselves busy, slaughtering each other. The Jews and Israelis are nothing more than the "Emmanuel Goldstein" of the rest of the world, in particular the arab and muslim world, designed to keep people from realizing that it's their own leaders and society that's oppressive, NOT the Jews or Israelis.

BTW, if you aren't familiar with the name "Emmanuel Goldstein," (a Jewish name, it seems,) you might want to get acquainted with the book "1984," by George Orwell.

It’s the question Satan whispers constantly....’what if the Jooos were gone?....hmmmm? Everything would be better if it weren’t for the Jooooos..’

Most of Old Europe has stopped to listen to that Siren Song of Satan. The UN serves as the choir.
