Please share the facts.
Shallow? This is TV...I did not invent it. Nixon was the first to get screwed by TV. TV is real and you have to deal with life. We have a mentally impaired public voting for images on a screen. They have no idea what these people are like except their image and verbiage. The schools are dumbed down to point few vote anything but image. This is real. We had better deal with it.
Is nationalledger.com excerpt-only?!?
“We have a mentally impaired public voting for images on a screen. They have no idea what these people are like except their image and verbiage.”
I am sad to say that is true. My hope is that there are some who will look deeper. I do know there are many who just LOVED Fred Thompson on “Law & Order”. If Fred gets their vote just because of that, well good for Fred! :)
Yes, you are right. But does this mean that we shouldn’t push against it, instead of declaring it as a done deal?
I have many times, but when I do, people run to the mods and whine. But since you asked....
*Fred was co-sponsor in 2002 of the most egregious global warming legislation ever crafted in this country. No one knows about it because it was hidden in an omnibus spending bill.
*Fred was every bit as involved as McCain and Feingold in getting CFR passed. In fact, he was a cosponsor of the most egregious part - the moratorium on free speech before elections.
*Fred was a member of the execrable Senate Centrist Coalition for nearly his entire stint in office.
*Fred voted in 1995 to allow illegals to retain federal benefits. And he voted to allow chain migration. Fred got Cs from Americans for Better Immigration and equally bad marks from FAIR and AIC.
*Fred worked with Feingold and Kerry to kill the B-2 bomber program in 1995 after the House voted to build more planes.
*Fred stuffed ridiculous sums of money in multiple bills to create “educational” Institutes for Howard Baker, Paul Simon, Robert Stafford (of gay marriage fame), Benjamin Hooks (racist former head of NAACP), and John Glenn.
*Fred supported liberal Howie Baker over Reagan for the 1980 election.
*Fred enthusiastically claimed McCain showed “leadership like no one else I’ve ever seen” as well as co-chaired his 2000 run for the presidency.
*Fred tried to get the GOP to drop the platform, due to the social issues such as abortion.
That’s just a sampling.
Every word is absoultely true.
No one should take your word on anything regarding Fred. Your history is quite clear.
Yes it is quite clear. Which one of those points is false?
You haven’t proven any of them. They’re all unsourced.
I think we can wait and see on Fred. His verbiage is acceptable to me so he gets my vote. The question is what is the split of people voting doctrine and people voting image. With the primary campaign, we can see what traction he gets and what type voter rallies to him. Ideally, the candidate should sway both groups into his camp. If Thompson gains traction, then he has wide appeal, if he does not his nice verbiage will not have been enough and my worries may have been well founded.
I’ve proven them time and again. Pick a couple and I’ll give you the sources.
Sure.
Pick a couple and Ill give you the sources.
Post all the sources.
Ouch....That list sent shivers down my spine. Mr. Conservative did all that? Yikes.
“...seeking counsel from God.”
So it was God who told Romney to be pro-choice and pro-gay to get votes in Massachusetts? I think not.
I bet some of it might even resemble the truth!
pissant said>Fred was a member of the execrable Senate Centrist Coalition for nearly his entire stint in office.
The Atlanta Journal and Constitution said on April 25, 1997, Page A7, in article titled, "Moderate senators taking on stalled budget as bipartisan force,":
"The group of senators, known as the Centrist Coalition, is headed by Sens. John Chafee (R-R.I) and John Breaux (D-La.). [...]And then he's listed as a member while the 107th United States Congress was in session.
...Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) ... attended the coalition's first meeting and [is] considering joining, Chafee said."
A 2001 AP article said:
Among the Republicans aligned with the coalition are Education Committee Chairman Jim Jeffords of Vermont, Commerce Committee Chairman John McCain of Arizona, Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Fred Thompson of Tennessee, Armed Services Committee Chairman John Warner of Virginia and Budget Committee Chairman Pete Domenici of New Mexico.I must say, that sure is a RINO lineup that Sen. Thompson seems to inhabit.
I’ll give you a couple then let you work to find stuff like I have.
