It’s Still Children

By: Bethany Stotts

It’s Still Elementary (ISE), a retrospective documentary featuring the motivations behind and public’s response to the controversial 1996 It's Elementary (IE) film on homosexuality, premiered November 28th at none other than the National Education Association’s (NEA) Washington, D.C. facility.

......... Chen denies that teachers are overstepping their grounds by discussing gay issues with young, impressionable children in grades as early as kindergarten. “All teachers have the right, and the responsibility, to weave respectful, age-appropriate messages about LGBT people and issues into their lessons and classrooms,” Chen said.

The “New Call to Action” handout issued by the Respect for All Project further asserts that “Educators should not need to seek approval or have parental consent to discuss LGBT people and issues in the classroom in age-appropriate ways, unless the discussion involves actual sexual practices.” Groundspark leaders suggested at the meeting that the 1996 IE documentary and LGBT tolerance-promoting curriculum be incorporated throughout America’s K-12 public school classrooms. Attorney Ruth Borenstein, a Groundspark Board Member, boasted at the event that the IE curriculum is already used in 25 U.S. States, “many of them Red States” and encourages donors to help “spread the word across the country.”

......

ISE commentators found little problem with teachers unilaterally choosing to incorporate LGBT discussions in their elementary classrooms. Safe Schools Coalition Chair Beth Reis said during the ISE film that teachers don’t need permission to inject LGBT-friendly material into the curriculum because “it’s in their mission statement” to foster safe schools. The SSC, an “international public-private partnership in support of [LGBT] youth,” was launched following the distribution of IE in order to “help schools...become safe places where every family can belong, where every educator can teach, and where every child can learn, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.”

Teachers have the right to sexualize children? That would explain all the teachers having sex with them.

There are times when people who crosses the line of decency deserve a good butt whooping. This is one.

I fail to see why my children should be subjected to indoctrination at school by the Gay Lobby.

“All teachers have the right, and the responsibility, to weave respectful, age-appropriate messages about LGBT people and issues into their lessons and classrooms,” Chen said.

Substitute the word Christian for LGBT and see what response you get.

Well since Christians aren’t actively seeking to have laws against having sex with children overturned what good would the teachers union see in that?

Actually, later in the article:

“One ISE producer said during the documentary that the Right had mistakenly depicted the original IE documentary as a “calculated attempt by gay activists to recruit the next generation of sex partners.”

I fail to see why my children should be subjected to indoctrination at school by the Gay Lobby.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Let’s call it what it really is: Child Abuse!

I fail to see why taxpayers should be subjected to it, as well.

But,,,hey!,,,If a taxpayer refuses to fork over his government indoctrination camp taxes, an armed sheriff will sell his home and/or business at auction. If he resists courts and armed police will send him to prison. If he resists sufficiently, armed police will kill him.

If a parent refuses to cooperate with the government school gestapo, armed police and social workers threatening court action and foster care will soon be at the door. If he resists, he too faces prison.

Gee! Aren’t govenrnment schools great! ( Real bullets in those guns on the hip!)

But,,,The parent is always free to pay a religious and freedom of conscience **ransom** to release their child from government imprisonment. Other terms for this ransom are: Private school tuition and homeschooling expenses.

By the way,,,the police in my county wear brown shirts and black boots. ( Really!)

Good idea. How's this read?

“All teachers have the right, and the responsibility, to weave respectful, age-appropriate messages about LGBT people Christians and issues into their lessons and classrooms,” Chen said.

“Educators should not need to seek approval or have parental consent to discuss LGBT people Christians and issues in the classroom in age-appropriate ways, unless the discussion involves actual sexual religious practices.”

Safe Schools Coalition Chair Beth Reis said during the ISE film that teachers don’t need permission to inject LGBT- Christian friendly material into the curriculum because “it’s in their mission statement” to foster safe schools.

An aggressive home education advocacy group could develop a wonderful program to encourage parents to home educate by simply utilizing the unvarnished comments of these groups.

To piggyback on your comment. Property taxes are collected to be used for public education, but the amount given to a school is based on “Average Daily Attendance” or ADA. At least here in California.

So what happens when you have a lower number of students than expected and have an excess of school funds? Are the funds rolled back into the schools for updated text books or other school related equipment, or are the funds just rolled back into the general fund for use/misuse at the will of the politico in charge?

Any FReepers know?
