He loves the restaurants, especially Alioto’s on Fisherman’s Wharf.
He’s always talking about how good the seafood is there.

It really is a beautiful city, and would be even better if they could get about 30% of the residents to leave.

Two things that quickly come to my mind whenever talking about San Fransisco are Michael Savage and Mythbusters (with another “Savage” named Adam).

Lee Rogers used to do a show with Bernie on KGO. It will be interesting to hear what Rogers has to say.

That would have been Christine Craft, or Enid Goldstein? Both of whom are out of broadcast work now.

Now THAT musta been interesting. Was it like a Johnny Cochran/Nancy Grace type thing?

There was a woman pukefest that preceded, or followed, his show.

There was Christine Craft and Shaun Nix on KGO, but I do not remember when they were scheduled...

Then there is the "nightworm" Ray Taliafero during the week.

The three aforementioned are really nasty commies.

Duane Garret jumped of the Golden Gate Bridge.

There is John Rothman who, despite being a liberal, is pretty well mannered and takes a strong stand on Israel.

Then there is the only one really worth listening to on KGO... Dr. Bill Wattenberg...

I miss Duane Garrett. He was a leftie, but he had real insights into politics in San Francisco.

I used to catch Ward late at night in Stockton, about the only thing on. He was radically liberal and even worse, if you got three words out indicating you were disagreeing with him he was all over you.

I caught him occasionally on Sunday morning on my way to visit my daughter very early. You called in and said you wanted to sign up for his church and he gave you a number.

He took on some corrupt catholic priests who were apparently stealing money. Best thing I think he ever did. Maybe the only thing I agreed with.

I think about 15 years ago he went syndicated as a liberal option coast to coast. I don't think it lasted very long.

As a talk show host, I'd rate him a D.

I’ll add: he used to have the prime night time spot, but was moved til later in favor of the libertarian guy. I guess that meant his ratings were bad in the earlier more desirable time spot.

I wonder how many people have disdain for the Catholic Church because of him and people like him. This is why we need litmus tests, especially now for the Republican party.

So, those "festive" parades are rejected by most people in SF? - by the majority of people they absolutely are; again if you actually knew what you were talking about you would know that. But instead of knowledge of actually being here to experience what you are talking of, you are a sheep that falls in line with what you "know" about San Francisco. No worries, lots of folks on this site do. I do not take it personally.

Enid Goldstein?

I believe it was her, thanks. As a Boxer-wannabe, she shows up in local news debates occassionally. There was some controversy surrounding Cristine's departure from a TV station (her looks). I recall her defending her two lovable pitbulls.

Her face and dogs somehow linked-up in my brain.

Actually, Bernie is not the most obnoxious liberal on KGO. Karel is far worse (although not indicted yet). I remember listening to his show about five years ago and he said on the air that while buggering children wasn’t OK, looking at child porn was OK with him. KGO should have fired him on the spot but still broadcasts his show today. That should tell you something about the mentality that prevails at KGO.

KSFO played it straight this morning, as far as I heard.

They included it in their straight local news segment after the ABC News feed, but I didn't hear them talk about it at all after that.

Brian Sussman was taking callers on it last night, but they were mostly holding their fire and giving Ward the benefit of doubt. Caller opinion ranged from how illicit materials can show up on a computer without the owner's knowledge (not applicable in this case), to how it is possible to get permission from the govt ahead of time if one were pursuing a project (like writing a book) that required access illicit materials (specific example was a nuclear physicist needing acccess to classified nuclear weapons technology that is otherwise illegal for a lay-person to have).

The consensus was that if Ward really was working on a book that needed this material, he should have gotten the proper clearances before accessing the material.

The article says that he sent them to someone else via e-mail. That is a major no-no. What’s his explanation for that...?
