I'd have preferred to list the progress he's made in several states where he's just recently been gaining some name recognition, but then the Newsweek poll pretty much made that unnecessary. Talk about blowing Romney out of the water in Iowa...I don't care how biased Newsweek is; he's clearly the frontrunner there now. Something big is going on and it's quite likely to be contagious. New Hampshire is going to get interesting next, I'm betting.
Oh, and you might want to question your sources of that "other information" you refer to. Maybe they're the ones spouting "crazy stuff"?
Seriously, though, you're missing a really, really big story here. What Huckabee is doing is taking the country by storm. He's a Republican. This is a good thing, not the end of the world, as it seems to be commonly portrayed in here. I never in my wildest dreams thought that a guy with a concealed carry permit in his billfold could accomplish what he has. This will even drive the MSM nuts before it's all over. Great fun to watch. Sit back and enjoy it.
No, anything under 50% is not a majority. For example, you could have 40%, 40%, 10%, 5%, 5%. Neither of the two 40s would have a majority, or even a plurality. Over 20% in a five way just means you are above the average.
Politicial scientists for years will write about FTD “sitting on” an imaginary lead that may have never been there. At any rate, he violated an old axiom: Strike while the iron is hot! Also, he does not seem to make his issue stands clear to voters, who have to have things explained to them over and over — like Reagan did.
Wow, nearly 2.5% of Iowa's voters will actually vote for him if the polls are accurate and remain steady.
As far as the national poll, I'm not going to believe any poll that isn't at least somewhat confirmed by polls done by other groups. No single poll is ever truly accurate, and some poll results are just off the wall. Do you seriously think Huckabee is leading in California, for example?
You were unable to point to other state polls where he is leading. So, how could he be leading nationally? Iowa does not have half the registered Republicans in the country. Pretty sure about that.
I'm perfectly content to see how Huckabee does in Iowa and subsequent states. I've even speculated that he might make a good VP choice if the nominee is from the northeast.
I'm deriding the poll, not the candidate.
