Perhaps the whole scenario shall change once Mullins gets the run down from the Israeli Intel community. But the facts remain unchanged regarding their uranium enrichment program.
As their expertise increases in running long chain series/parallel gas centrifuge systems for extended periods of time with low failure rates, they will position themselves to be able to create sufficient quantities of weapon grade uranium. That is a no brainer. So regardless of what parts of the NIE report one wants to quote, ignore, support, the facts are strongly supported as to how Iran can eventually become a member of the nuclear club.
All they primarily need is the means to obtain adequate quantities of fairly pure HF6, as feed stock for the centrifuges.

Well....maybe we need McCain...He’ll bomb them!

Perhaps he would consider it, but I think if we had to advance to a stage where a POTUS considers a pre-emptive nuclear strike, one would need the Hill to give the thumbs up.
And you know what the path leads down. Iran is not going to attacked us or anyone else, they realize the grave consequences. They will continue to chip away, sponsor Islamic terrorist to keep unrest in Israel, Lebanon and work toward a day when they think they could show the world they have a military that could actually make a difference in the oil/gas distributions etc..
I for one am convinced they really do have a very good understanding of all their limitations.
We cannot forget they have Navy and Airforce pilots that where trained by the US, and have a good feel for how far they are behind in all facets of militarism compared to the western states, regardless of the junk the Russians sell them. They are good actors, and clever in some ways and most likely feel, they will not get bombed and or invaded any time soon. But the critical mass within, just may tip the scale in due time on the side of counter revolution to kick out the Islamist.
