I do both...

As a recent new member, you are aware that you signed up for Free Republic, a Conservative Forum...

BTW, Fred Thompson, since like I said, I do both, attack other candidates (what most normal folks call telling the truth) and support a Conservative for the office of President...

Huckabee denies any such pressuring and notes that it was his predecessor, Jim Guy Tucker

That is one tendency I've noticed with Huckabee -- he tends to blame others, rather than taking responsibility for his actions.

I can see a lot of valid reasons for all of this. First, Huckabee can just be one of those Christians who really takes the forgiveness and mercy aspect of the religion to heart.

People with some contact to him get pardoned? Wow, whooda thunk it? You can’t pardon someone you’ve never heard of, and having some kind of personal contact method helps you hear of them.

This minister? It’s not vote buying. They obviously get along well together minister-to-minister. Williams knows how to talk to Huckabee to get across that someone has changed. Williams of course looks after his flock, so will bring people he thinks deserve clemency to Huckabee.

I believe Huckabee is an honest man, and all of this can be explained simply by him having bleeding-heart liberal tendencies.

Reminder:

“The parole board was made up entirely of Democrats appointed by Democrat Governors Bill Clinton and Jim Guy Tucker (who was later convicted on federal charges and removed from office). Not one member of the board was appointed by Huckabee.”

You know there, pissant-san, pretty soon WE are going to be into double digits and higher, and then DUNCAN is going to catch flak as a moving target!

But, I relish it and cannot wait. Bring it on!

I would rather be attacked with Duncan rising in the polls, than to be totally ignored by the media in a conspiracy of silence because they cannot stand the guy, and treated as a non entity.

So if we have "President Huckabee" in office, but it is a Democrat Senat and House sending lousy piece after lousy piece of legislation to his desk, he can sign of on it, but we can all relax because he can at the end of the day blame it on the Democrat Congress he has to work with?

That is not the President I want.

He would be attacked, but the MSM’s best weapon is silence. Because when they rumble with Hunter, they get the snot knocked out of ‘em.

Maybe he’ll do like Slick Willie did and fry a retard to show how tough on crime he is.

Maybe I should use this tagline:
I don’t drink the same Jesus kool-aid that Huckster does

what do y’all think?

Huckabee granted 1,033 pardons and commutations in his 10 1/2 years as governor of Arkansas

Jeez louise. Last number I saw was 700+. I would really be interested in seeing a breakdown of names and crimes.

“In fact, it is apparent by the sheer number of pardons grated by huckleberry that the Democrats who say he pressured them for a pardon are probably lying. If he wanted the guy out, he could have done it himself.”

Hey newbie, it sounds like you bought into Huckster recent denials - despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary - that he didn’t pressure the parole board to parole Wayne DuMond. Since Dumond is now Huckabee’s Willie Horton, I would be glad to debate and discuss this further.

Mike Huckabee publicly called for Dumond to be release.
Mike Huckabee met personally with the parole board on the matter.
The parole board then changed votes and went in favor of parole.
Mike Huckabee then publicly praised the decision.

Now, years later, after the freed killer went on to rape and murder two women in Missouri, he pretends that he had nothing to do with it.

Mike likes to play Mr Forgiveness on brutal felons.
It undermines law-and-order and suggests he has a soft, liberal view on such matters.

Are the conservative skeptics wrong on this?

Dumond was *not* the only killer freed by the Huckster, see below:

“Third, Huckabee is getting a bum rap. He may have overused clemancy,”

Since he did it, it’s *NOT* a bum rap!!!!

” but Mitt Romney didn’t use it at all”

WELL, BULLY FOR MITT ROMNEY. THAT’S THE RIGHT IDEA.

” ... out of fear that someone might do something after being freed”

Duh! Of course! That’s why you don’t free killers willy-nilly.

And if Romney did it out of fear of his political career, it shows he has more brains than Huckster as well.

‘Fifth, if you look at the list of issues by importance, pardons don’t even register.”

Weak on crime as governor leads to weak on terrorism as President. He wants to close Gitmo and stop waterboarding. Compassionate softness can get people killed. Huckster is another Jimmy Carter.

“People with some contact to him get pardoned? Wow, whooda thunk it? You can’t pardon someone you’ve never heard of, and having some kind of personal contact method helps you hear of them.”

So, we’ve got Clinton-style pardons without the groping. Oh Joy.

“I believe Huckabee is an honest man, and all of this can be explained simply by him having bleeding-heart liberal tendencies.”

Which we need in the GOP nomination like a fish needs a bicycle.
