Colorado Church Gunman `Hated Christians'
Houston Chronicle ^ | 12-10-07 | Judith Kohler

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The deadly shooting sprees at a megachurch and a missionary training school were believed to have been carried out by the same person — a 24-year-old suburban Denver man who "hated Christians," a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, identified the gunman as Matthew Murray, the son of a neurologist who is a prominent researcher on multiple sclerosis.

Five people — including a gunman — were killed, and five others wounded Sunday in the two eruptions of violence 12 hours and 65 miles apart.

The first attack took place at a youth missionary training center in the Denver suburb of Arvata; the other happened at the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, where the gunman was shot and killed by a security guard.

The law enforcement official said Murray was believed to be the gunman in both attacks. Murray did not appear to have a criminal history but "hated Christians," the official said. The official did not know Murray's religion, if any.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE.

"Maybe he became a Hasidic Jew ;)"

You are joking, ECM. ;-) But for the sake of information for all others here,...

The family was Christian. ...don't know what the young man's problem was. Chassidim tend to be very observant and are commanded against murder.

Even the nations (Noachide, Gentile, Goyim: all who are *not* Jews) are commanded against murder.

"3. Respect human life, and do not murder."

I heard that the “IED” devices turned out to be smoke bombs. But who knows, it’s all conjecture at this point. The only thing we know at this point is that Christians were shot dead at their headquarters, and then again Christians were shot dead at their place of worship.

That banner is great. CAIR admits that 55% of its followers think that the terrorists are on the side of Islam.

FWIW there are a pretty good number of both atheistic goth types and American Caucasians with skullcap and beard wandering around in Eugene or Portland, OR. Add atheistic Marxist fanatics and you have a good portion of the young Oregon Urban population. Any of these types could decide to wipe out a bunch of “evil Christians”. In my view, life for a lot of our young is just too soft and they get things too easily. Hard work and earning a living helps bring reality and an appreciation of Christian life. Sitting around listening to “revolutionaries”, much of today’s music, radical Islam as rebellion, and doing drugs in some combination or any single activity alone and in excess, can certainly help create a diseased mind capable of a horror like what happened in Colorado or Omaha.

This shooter may have been a grown man, but that is not to say that he wasn’t grossly affected by the hate filled , anti-Christian message that is being broadcast by the secular progressives in this country. They have infiltrated the schools, the media, the retail markets, and the courts with the false claim of separation of church and state. The anti-Christian movement in this country is no less vile than the Klu Klux Klan.

Could it be that Matthew Murray is somehow related to Madelyn MURRAY O’Hair?

Most muslims wear skullcaps if they’re devout, only a few wear turbans. Sikhs ususally wear turbans which is why there were some misdirected hate crimes against them after 9/11.

I doubt if he was a cradle atheist as he was affilitated with the missionary training in 2002 and was asked to leave.

The greater environment, as you put it, is too general a description of the anti-Christian movement. This anti-Christian movement is the center piece of the secular progressive agenda that is being spread across this country by the far left, hate America crowd. The anti-Christianity movement is based largely on the fundamentalist opposition to the homo-sexual life style, and I won’t be at all surprised if we find out that this shooter was gay. He may not have been, but that seems to be the most common basis for the leftist antipathy toward Christianity.

After the gunman went down, Bourbonnais asked the woman, who has only been identified as a volunteer security guard with the church, how she remained so calm and focused.

Bourbonnais said she replied:

“I was asking the Holy Spirit to guide me the entire time.”

I may take some heat for this....because it's anecdotal.

But...I've known quite a few neuro-surgeons. And it's odd to find one that's not odd, if you know what I mean.....

Maybe like father, like son???

FWIW

Heck, if we are talking odd, I got a list of FR members that would rise to that low standard of suspision, LOL.

Doctors, or any professional that trains to the n-th degree is an isolated person. Gymnasts, Figure-skaters, concert muscians, research scientists, kids that do nothing but skate-board...any person who neglects all areas of life execpt for one becomes somewhat crippled in interaction outside of that area.

On a serious note, I think we have an upper middle class youth, searching for a life path or career path that when he had conflict didn’t have structure, internal or external, to deal with it and built up a destruction script that he played out for self aggrandizement.

Not meaning to offend anyone as well, but I’ve
noticed the same quirkiness in Chemists and
Chemistry teachers. Inhaling chemicals all day
can’t be good for the brain.
