They feel a federally funded diet of indoctrination will make them all happy drones...instead of instigators of needless slaughter.
Which is ironic considering that the majority of these sorts of shootings are committed in public schools by public school students.
That caused me, along with the legalism, to stay away from the Christian church and its hypocrisy for more than fifteen years. It seemed to me their "rules" meant more to them than the teachings of Jesus Christ.
I wasn't truly converted until I was close to 30. With Jesus in your heart, things will look a lot different. ;)
Prayers up for those who were murdered by this madman.
While I was joking, one can convert to Judaism and then to Hasidism.
I wonder about his ritalin and/or anti-depressant history. If his doctor father medicated him and homeschooled him there may not be records of psycho drug use/abuse.
A busy mall filled with shoppers and a standing-room only religious service.
Hmmm. Must have been instigated by all of that lefty hate speech against evangelical Christians.
Surely the Dems are rushing to file legislation to protect us ...
One more sign of the time we are living in.
Matthew 24
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
One report described Matthew Murray as being “home schooled”. Matthew Murray was 24 years old! Seems like a gratuitous shot against home schoolers.
Certainly the greater environment that the Children have to live in has a major influence. Anyone that denies that is only looking at this problem from a one dimensional view. There is no way to completely block the Christianophobic rhetoric being splashed around the country in the media and in our schools.
From the other point of view, I know a minister's son who fits the profile of a Christianity reject and his experience was a both a combination of legalism and connections to all things secular. He eventually found more acceptance in the secular world. Even his parents have abandoned him. Sad.
As the past leader of my county homeschool association and also one who has been active on the state level, I can tell you that the face of homeschooling is changing. Under no child left behind, our local school system has begun advising parents of at risk and problem students that homeschool might be a “good” option for them.
My godson styruggled with reading and when he tested at low 6th grade levels even though he was in the 9th grade, the school system suggested that maybe he neeeded to homeschool. I advisedd her to tell them they created the problem they needed to solve it.
A news conference started about four minutes ago at 4 o’clock MST
There is a thread following it and a live link.
Matthew Murray???
Any relationship to the infamous Madelaine Murray
O’Hare - the woman who took prayer out of schools?

it doesn’t even matter. this is a bad day for all those who advocate peaceful faith and homeschooling.
Yep. I’m also wondering what the security girl’s Freeper screen name is.
Then there are the church fires, and I recall a fire set at a synagogue.
