"The Bravest Thing I've Ever Seen"
via Hugh Hewitt ^ | Monday, December 10, 2007 | unknown

Posted on 12/10/2007 3:19:59 PM PST by BenLurkin

Bourbonnais yelled at the gunman to draw his attention, he said.

"First, I called him 'Coward' then I called him 'S---head' " Bourbonnais said. "I probably shouldn't have been saying that in church."

That's when the shooter pointed one of his guns at Bourbonnais and fired, he said.

Bourbonnais ducked behind a hollow, decorative pillar and was hit in the arm by a bullet and fragments of the pillar.

At about that moment, a female guard with a drawn handgun turned a corner and walked toward the gunman and yelled "Surrender!" Bourbonnais said.

The gunman pointed a handgun at the woman and fired three shots, Bourbonnais said. She returned fire and just kept walking toward the gunman pressing off round after round.

The female guard fired off about a dozen shots.

After the gunman went down, Bourbonnais asked the woman, who has only been identified as a volunteer security guard with the church, how she remained so calm and focused.

Bourbonnais said she replied:

"I was asking the Holy Spirit to guide me the entire time."

CNN saying that Police were still investigating whether Assam’s weapon killed Murray, or whether he might have died of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Can’t let a good story with a 2nd Amendment hero stand, can you Clinton News Network?

You must have a .40 S&W.

I've got the owners manual in front of me and its the Sig Sauer P-226 Combat pistol and manufactured in Germany. Its 9-mm with max. 15 rounds......

Last Friday ABC Evening News with Charlie Gibson highlighted a female that was a victim (not hurt) in the Omaha shopping center shooting. She basically hid in a stockroom during the shooting and called 911.
This female who took down the shooter in Colorado Springs is a real hero ... she no doubt saved many lives ... and my bet is she won't get zip in the way of acknowledgment ... certainly not from ABC Evening News.

I understand it’s a nice gun. Unfortunately a little too much for my budget. LOL. I just have a little plastic S&W Sigma 9. Good enough for my nightstand and the occasional visit to the range.

I think we have all owned that gun at one time or another!!!

Interesting thing is that if it had happened anywhere but on a narrow berm the squad would of been spread out left and right and someone would have gotten it for sure. The tight straight line probably saved some a$$ that day. BTW I called BS on these guys and to a man they all supported the story.

Ok, that model is smaller than the X-5 Competition. Yours is more for CCW.

I heard that. And the church had the foresight to go on the alert because she heard of the YWAM shooting and recommended that extra security be posted at the church. Yes, DHS could learn something from her about proactive security.
