I agree and for me, that is the biggest issue- socialism taking over the country. If it was up to me, I’d make Hunter president, but a close second after that would be Thompson or maybe the two working together.
What is up with Fred dropping so hard in the last grassfire poll? I like the guy.
No double entendre intended, but it was the Mexico fence. (”I think trade is, generally, a good thing, but...”).
That whole paragraph was, in my opinion, ambivalent.
And, frankly, I’m sorry to see that.
You and Fred need to revisit the facts of the case. Their superior officer witnessed the use of firearms, the agents did not know that they had hit the fleeing drug runner. They hid nothing.
That you read he was talking about the border fence indicates your obvious prejudice against FRed.
If you pay attention to FRed’s positions, you’d know he was talking about China, India, etc., and the lack of a fair trade agreement. FRed is for the border fence.
Now, sit up straight, and pay attention! LOL

I was not referring to the border fence as such; I was talking about the figurative “fence” that I felt Fred was straddling. Since the topic was Mexico and you asked what fence I felt he was straddling, I thought I would engage in a little wordplay.

Didn’t sound, from the transcript, like Fred was dodging any questions. Glenn can be a very disjointed questioner sometimes, but Fred seemed to catch on to what Glenn was asking. Reads like it was a good interview!
Those weren’t tough questions, and Fred answered them as he’s answered them before.
I was totally impressed with Fred. I didn’t pay much attention to the form of Glenn’s questions, but Fred’s answers were thoughtful and dead on in my opinion.
Frankly, I don’t know what some of the earlier posters are talking about.
I don't think that means what you think it means. I remember Reagan's answers to questions of this sort, and they seemed not much different than what Fred was saying, or how he said it.
What's with this obsession to try to compare Fred to Reagan, anyway? Fred is his own man, and has his own ideas. Some may be similar to Reagan's, but they are the ideas he's had for many years, so he certainly didn't come up with them to try to mimic Reagan.

I think a lot of people were making the same assumption you did, and rejected Fred because he's not some sort of over the top speaker. If you look at the parts he's played, they're all pretty much like he is. I never expected anything else, but then, I was familiar with Fred as a Senator, and he talks exactly the same way now as he did when he was in the Senate.
I hope folks will get over their expectations about 'performances' and listen to what Fred has to say.

Finally, I guess it’s kinda unfair for me or anyone else to compare any candidate to the greatest president who ever lived.
Yes, it is, because someone else may have their own notions about who was 'the greatest President who ever lived'. Each Republican candidate is his own man, so there will always be differences. Reagan had his own set of flaws; he wasn't a perfect person, nor was he a perfect President, but he is the one who rescued conservatism, so that's why he holds a special place in the heart of Republican conservatives and why we tend to compare more recent candidates to him. I, for one, think that Fred is the more conservative, who is also electable, of the major candidates. He's not exactly like Reagan, but he is a conservative, like Reagan was, and wants folks to start thinking in LOCAL terms, rather than FEDERAL terms when dealing with most issues.
