The number of casualties remained unclear. The Kabul government says none of its troops were killed and only four civilians died, but residents told the BBC that the NATO and Afghan forces sustained heavier casualties than they have acknowledged.

Uh-huh. Sure.

UPEye can’t be happy people are free, it has to slip in some claim that NATO casualties were higher than reported. War is hell UPEye. Nobody claimed freedom was cheap. You just treat it that way.

The Jim Lehrer News Hour had a long discussion Monday night about how we are losing in Afghanistan.

Now that the surge is working in Iraq, they are grasping at straws to find a place, somewhere on earth, where US soldiers are losing a battle, even if they have to make up stories themselves.

And now, with Musa Qala falling out of the hands of the loved-by-media Taliban, reporters everywhere are falling into deep mourning.
