It’s the way Mike dealt with this situation that tells us something important about him and what we can expect from him as President.

What concerns me is that, if he wins the Presidency, he will only cover up all the more--this time, the Clintons. He might even pardon Hillary. I can just hear the "let's move on" speech!

America deserves a lot better than that.

Here's Mr. Huckabee.

If this is Daddy, I'm not driven to find a picture of David's Mama

Perhaps in your mind but in the world of politics and reality he’s toast.

If he is toast, it isn't going to be because of this story.

The point isn’t about what the kid did—it’s about the attempted cover-up. I care about that!

No. It won’t be because of this one story. It will be because of the multitude of stories which are steadily revealing the real Mike Huckabee and his record.

First, Huckabee didn't allegedly hang a dog, his son did.

Secondly, the Michael Vick hysteria is the most absurd thing I have witnessed in this nation in a long time. Vick is getting as much time as the average child molester or rapist gets. He is getting more time than NFL players that killed people in drunken driving accidents or that have been convicted of dealing drugs.

It's pathetic that our society punishes and makes a bigger deal out of killing a dog than committing a serious crime against a human being.

Now that is bad. But his kid doing that crap can’t entirely be put on him. And just so you know, I am no huckster fan.

there are many fools who fail to understand that a sadistic creep is a sadistic creep, and that it’s a small step from torturing and killing a dog to torturing and killing a human.

in this case, those who fail to take animal cruelty seriously should be ashamed, and those who are unconcerned about blatant abuse of political power should be embarrassed.

Shooting a sick or threatening dog is one thing; hanging it is something else again.

If it was my son who’d hanged a dog, I’d be trying to figure out which would be better for him - letting him be exposed to the law, or sending him for treatment.

And a governor pulling strings to get the police off a legitimate investigation of his son is corruption. One law for me and one law for thee.

Any father that wouldn't try to convince authorities not to prosecute his son would be a lousy father. Here's guessing you'd do same damn thing if you had been in Huckabee's position.

The irrational hatred toward Huckabee is disgusting.

Cruelty is cruelty. Most people who abuse animals aren't real nice to people!

Maybe Huckelbee’s son and Judy G. could get together and hang and staple pups. /s

Michael Vick could offer some extra help to them.

If you think hanging a dog should anything more than misdemeanor, then you're the PETA-like freak elevating animal life to the same level as human life.

High time, too

I would say I lost all respect for Huckabee after his attack on the President today, but then I never had any respect for Huckabee.

I only hope that the people who were temporarily drawn to him will move over to Fred.

To be fair, the Governor went to great lengths to protect their surviving dogs from David.

He gets his son off for what Michael Vick is doing time for. The guy is corrupt.

He may be, but Hillary's fingerprints are all over this. Also he looks way too much like Nixon. The whole thing is disgusting.

I sort of agree about not blaming parents, but what about the attempts of Huckabee to put pressure on the police to cover up the crime, misdeed or whatever you want to call it.

I call it a crime and a sick one.

Excuse me? YOu think dog torture is silly?

Tell that to Michael Vick... he thought so too, but now he has a couple of years to think differently.

I concur. Its the coverup of what the son did that is wrong. He is no better than Clinton.

I will not vote in the election if Huckabee if the Republican candidate. If he is the best that the GOP can find, the game is over for the time being.
