Many loving dads would let their son do the time (misdemeanor?) for brutally hanging a stray dog. Then any loving dad would beat his kids backside and take all his privileges away until he was 18. Any loving dad that is.

This story came out here at FR about a week ago. The blogs are exposing what the MSM had hoped to keep hidden until later. Now they have to report it or look irrelevant. Once again, thank goodness for FR and the internet.

They couldn’t take the chance that the Huckster might win.

Who? The MSM? I think they want the Huckster to win the nomination. They know Hillary or Obama will crush him in the general election. Even if for some reason the Huckster win the presidency, the MSM see their preferred agenda to be pursued by him -- perhaps with the exception of gay marriage and abortion; but they probably don't care much as long as socialism win.

“My first reaction is that now they’ve drawn a moral equivalence story with Romney for putting the family dog in a cartop carrier while they went on vacation.”

They shouldn’t, what Mitt Romney did to that animal was his own bizarre sick doings, not his son’s.

“The white Chevy station wagon with the wood paneling was overstuffed with suitcases, supplies, and sons when Mitt Romney climbed behind the wheel to begin the annual 12-hour family trek from Boston to Ontario.”

“Tagg Romney commandeered the way-back of the wagon, keeping his eyes fixed out the rear window, where he glimpsed the first sign of trouble. ‘’Dad!’’ he yelled. ‘’Gross!’’ A brown liquid was dripping down the back window, payback from an Irish setter who’d been riding on the roof in the wind for hours.

As the rest of the boys joined in the howls of disgust, Romney coolly pulled off the highway and into a service station. There, he borrowed a hose, washed down Seamus and the car, then hopped back onto the highway. It was a tiny preview of a trait he would grow famous for in business: emotion-free crisis management.”

I might add to my last post that I don’t find Huckabee’s son to be the real story here. I tend to think offspring should be left out of the political fray. It’s the way Mike dealt with this situation that tells us something important about him and what we can expect from him as President.

“I could care less about anything Huckabee’s son has done.”

Don’t be a dork. It isn’t about his son, it’s about “dad” getting him off...

I could care less about anything Huckabee's son has done.

It's not about what his son did. The following is from the article:

"...John Bailey, then the director of Arkansas's state police, tells NEWSWEEK that Governor Huckabee's chief of staff and personal lawyer both leaned on him to write a letter officially denying the local prosecutor's request. Bailey, a career officer who had been appointed chief by Huckabee's Democratic predecessor, said he viewed the lawyer's intervention as improper and terminated the conversation. Seven months later, he was called into Huckabee's office and fired. "I've lost confidence in your ability to do your job," Bailey says Huckabee told him. One reason Huckabee cited was "I couldn't get you to help me with my son when I had that problem," according to Bailey. "Without question, [Huckabee] was making a conscious attempt to keep the state police from investigating his son," says I. C. Smith, the former FBI chief in Little Rock,..."

has revealed is that almost all of the candidates are a bunch of second stringers.

It's best they let the fat slob walk, who would want to feed him.

“conservatives” who say they support Huckabee

Real conservatives do not support a nanny state liberal, next you're going to start saying huck didn't lie about his degree.

“I’m not a Huckabee supporter but I hate to see the media combing through candidates lives to dig up something that can be spun to make the candidate look bad.”

So we need a candidate that has no dirt to dig up... Or at least the smallest amount.

he tortured the dog and slit its throat.

The fact that Huckabee protected his son from the due process of the law is despicable — he used his political power to keep his son from learning from the consequences of his deeds.

Even the Bible says that an evil man treats the beast with cruelty.

Violent criminals usually start out by tormenting and killing helpless animals.

I don’t think this is any small thing.

Better to be done in the primaries than the general election...

So his boy hung a stray dog, and this is bad for the Huckster, why?

This fine Christian pastor can't even rear his own son to be a responsible citizen, but he claims to be the best man in the race to lead the United States of America? (BTW, his son also got into a pickle for trying to take a fully loaded Glock onto an aircraft).

What's worse is that he abused his power as governor to enable his son to avoid responsibility for this act of cruelty. Michael Vick has gone to jail for three years for abusing dogs--and for good reason. Still, his dogs had a fighting chance. Dave Huckabee was lucky that his pa was the governor of Arkansas. Saddam Hussein showed similar solicitude for his sadistic son Uday.

I hope those people in Iowa wake up and stop their love affair with this guy. Nominating Huckabee would be a disaster for the Republican party.

He gets his son off for what Michael Vick is doing time for. The guy is corrupt.

Can you see the Huckster, lying about having a theology degree from a bible college with his dog-hanging son running against ‘clean’ Obama, Harvard law with his picture perfect family.

This is not good.

I wonder what Mitt would do to one of his sons if he dared to commit such an outrage?
