Of course they want Huckster to run against. A substantial chunk of the Republican base WILL NOT vote for this liberal fraud in the general election. Ditto Romney and Rudy.

conservatives who appreciate free speech cannot vote for Fred either. He spent years trying to shut it down with CFR while ignoring illegals. Every conservative in this country understood this and said it loudly, yet Thompson and McCain went full speed ahead.

Either Thompson will be the nominee or we will see Clintoon/Hussein in the WH.

Huckabee/Romney are pathetic.

Do we really need another Arkansas governor running for POTUS?.

OTOH, as we discussed elsewhere, some Democrats will vote for Huckabee rather than Hillary...as if that's any comfort.

Count me in that chunk. No way in hell I'll cast a vote for Huckabee. That snake-oil so called preacher is faker than Pam Anderson's lady lumps.

I think that Huckabee would be the easiest candidate for the Dems to beat. On the other hand, he might be a good choice for VP. Whoever picks him as his VP gets instant credibility on abortion and gay rights.

Indeed. Michael Reagan is usually as sharp as a tack. So much of what he says here is also true i.e. governors and senators and so on.

The thing of it is, is some governors running for president on the Republican side would cause so many voters to stay home that you would end up with, not only a Democrat slam dunk for the White House, but 435 Democrats in the House of Representatives as well.

I refuse to believe that Reagan doesn't see that.
