Sen. John Warner, R-Va., praised Lott Tuesday for "your magnificent and courageous restoration of your career in full." How will the republic ever survive without these brilliant statesmen? /s
Thankfully Warner (the Senator from Liz Taylor) is retiring as well.

Lott resigns with five years left in his current six-year term I was going to make a comment that at least we get voluntary term limits every now and then, but if he ran for re-election in 2006, he must have known this was coming. That makes him a word I don't want to use here.

He could have done us all a big favor and retired in 1995 instead when he needed to. Lott was one of the first of the new 1994 elected GOP majority who started the Grand Old Party of Republican sellout. Bye Bye DEM Lott.

Why BS, I7? Have you looked up the pertinent Mississippi statute?
§ 23-15-855. Elections to fill vacancies in office of U.S. Senator; interim appointments by Governor.
(1) If a vacancy shall occur in the office of United States Senator from Mississippi by death, resignation or otherwise, the Governor shall, within ten (10) days after receiving official notice of such vacancy, issue his proclamation for an election to be held in the state to elect a Senator to fill such unexpired term as may remain, provided the unexpired term is more than twelve (12) months and the election shall be held within ninety (90) days from the time the proclamation is issued and the returns of such election shall be certified to the Governor in the manner set out above for regular elections, unless the vacancy shall occur in a year that there shall be held a general state or congressional election, in which event the Governor's proclamation shall designate the general election day as the time for electing a Senator, and the vacancy shall be filled by appointment as hereinafter provided.

Thankfully Warner (the Senator from Liz Taylor) is retiring as well. Another RINODEM who should have left in 1995 or earlier would have been even better, but instead stayed around to help the DEMs do their work. Warner helped gut our military as Chairman of Armed Services Committee. A sorry excuse for a senator from a state rich in military bases.

Wow... Barbour is the most Conservative Governor we have ever had... Pickering is the most popular Congressman in the State... and Warr... a personal friend of mine... is the most despised mayor in the history of Gulfport. You certainly are not from Mississippi.

Lott needs to be drummed out, and then his Lobbying license needs to be revoked.
Yes, and his estate, pension, and anything else of value confiscated to pay for all Lott’s ‘yes’ votes on wasteful spending.

Mr. Lott,
Please pay back the prorated amount the RNC spent on your last campaign. You are a gutless moneygrubber, not a statesman. If you had any moral fiber, you would be ashamed of your self-serving career. This story cries out for term limits. One term, then go home and get an honest job.
