Long War Journal has the charts and comments:
Iraq by the numbers: Graphing the decrease in violence
**********************EXCERPT************************
By Bill RoggioDecember 17, 2007 10:32 AM
Multinational Forces-Iraq has released the data of the effects of the "surge" on the security situation. The reduction in deaths, attack trends, sectarian violence, and improvised explosive device, suicide, and car bomb attacks is dramatic. The number of weapons caches found per year has more than doubled. The graphs below have been provided by Multinational Forces Iraq. Click each graph to view in detail.

There is some amazing spinning about this bill going on. We won’t know about all the stuff that was dumped in there for months, if ever.

The mad mullahs might want to consider how liberated situation is for Bush and how it allows him options as he assesses how best to protect the American people and our allies in the world. Agree 100%.

Only the Maliki government can totally screw things up at this point. And I have a strong suspicion they no longer can ignore the growing numbers of Iraqi from all the combined parties that want better management at the top.

Wow — caches found and cleared has more than doubled from last year to this. Obviously, the war is lost and the surge isn’t working. /sarc

This guarantees a major US Troops presence in Iraq for at least the duration of this Presidents term Only if the House passes it as well. They passed a budget without it, so it goes back to them. All they need do is nothing. Which for them is easy.

What does principle amount to for you?
This nation needs to secure it’s borders and as a citizen I have the right to be angry at the fact games are played on that issue every day.
Our citizens are being killed. Our children are being raped. Our hospitals are going under. The education of our children is suffering.
If some of us wade through these hallelujah choruses and remind folks we’re the ones being hoodwinked, you come out of the woodwork to state that I’m a DU operative or worse.
What it amounts to is that we got what we should have all along, and caved on the border once again. Now it’s back to ground zero.
Pretty slick. Kudos to Bush, because he sure has your number.
