That's kind of true. I'm certainly not going to argue that everyone has made up their mind already, because that's obviously not true.
And I don't put my faith in any one poll and say that it's gospel.
But if all the polls indicate Hillary is leading, she probably is. Likewise with any other candidate.
So, Huckabee is certainly enjoying a surge at present. Whether it can withstand any scrutiny, I don't know. I rather doubt it, but politics and the American public are fickle.
I think the hard reality is that Huckabee doesn't have the funds to effectively compete after Iowa, and the guillotine drops on Feb 5.
We'll see then who still has his head.
I agree. Once we get into February, we’ll see. It’s hard to tell with these early states. Nevada used to not be, but that got moved last year thanks to Dina Titus and company.
Buff?
“I sent Fred another donation today. And I talk him up where ever and when ever I get the chance.”
Me too! GO FRED!
Randy’s right dude. That stuff’s lame. Take your crap elsewhere.
You know.... It’s times like these I am reminded of allllll the FRed supporters who hounded us Hunter guys with, Don’t you realize he can’t win the primary.
I really feel Fred has peeked and his campaign is all but over. The electorate thought him over and has already passed on the deal.
Imagine though . If all the FOrmer FRed guys would support Hunter. What an overnight BOOST that would provide for a candidate who hasnt exhausted his upside potential
Interesting proposition. Hunter is a truly fine candidate, and would destroy Hillary. You Hunter guys now say Fred’s had his chance, and it’s time to throw in for Hunter.
But that just defies common sense, if you are truly pulling for guys like Hunter and Fred. At this late date, despite a total media blackout, Fred has visibility which is an order of magnitude greater than Hunter’s. If it’s too late for Fred, doesn’t it follow that it’s too late for an improbable Hunter surge?
Another thing I notice - you Hunter guys are angry that Fred’s more visible, so you try to bring him down. Yeah, it happens the other way too in the heat of the exchanges, but to nowhere near the degree.
I keep dreaming of a Thompson-Hunter ticket....
That would be a good one. I’d be a proud conservative, that’s for sure.
I prefer Hunter serve as Fred’s SedDef though. He would exterminate some terrorists, don’t you think?
that’s SecDef
Romney is not a conservative
....too late - I already donated to FRED !!
I like Fred, and I was an early Fred supporter, but he does not inspire me with his speeches at all. Fred needs to remember that he is a really good actor...and START ACTING!
When Fred speaks, it’s like he’s on downers. He needs to be more like MR President and less like Mr Factoid. He’s got a powerful voice and excellect inflection, but he’s not using it to his full ability.
Does he want this or not? Facts are not enough in the world of politics.
Alrighty, Rick! Sweet!
A lot of people don’t think Romney’s repeated tall tales are a big deal — in my view that’s just another indication of how split our party has become.
Romney’s false claim that he was a “lifelong hunter” is the thing that first soured me on him a bit. Since then there have been more tall tales and considerably more souring (there are many examples — most recently, with his false claim that he had the support of the NRA when he ran for governor).
I absolutely have had it with the constant need to parse Romney’s seemingly simplest words — e.g., “support,” “saw,” “with” “lifelong.”
I remember being especially disturbed with Clinton, Gore and Kerry that they lied about such stupid things that were so easily proved untrue. It shows either a pathological inability to stick to the plain truth, or a pathological disdain for the intelligence of the American people. I now have exactly the same sense about Romney.
Under no circumstances am I willing to spend the next year defending Romney’s revolving claims and clarifications, when I spent the last four elections denouncing similar behavior from Kerry, Gore, and the ‘toons. If he is the GOP nominee and my dem friends/acquaintances want to discuss his penchant for spinning fables, my attitude will be “don’t look at me — I didn’t vote for him.”
The GOP is going to look ridiculous and lose a lot of credibility if we put forth Romney after slamming the past three donk candidates for the same repeated verbal gymnastics.
This is not a slam against Romney’s supporters — we all have the right to judge a candidate on whatever criteria we like. But this is my final straw — I personally want nothing to do with this guy.
So did I, immediately. I have had it. We have massive challenges to face, and Romney has us all tied up in knots arguing over the word "saw" and "with."
Hee! Figuratively, right? :)
Seems you are not even watching, so this sounds like more parroting of the MSM anti-Fred talking points.
Fred is like a retired warhorse who got led out of a cozy field of clover by circumstances (which was namely a grassroots draft Fred movement). He took at few practice turns around the track and now he's ready.
Man you've got that right.
The Iowa Caucus is now less than 14 days away. I just heard recently that nearly 60% of registered voters had not yet chosen their guy.
If this is true, I would have to think that that is going to translate into low turnouts in the primaries. Kinda scary.
