Lawyer says Drews might have to leave Dardenne Prairie (MySpace suicide case backlash)

St. Charles attorney James L. Briscoe said on the "Today" show Tuesday what others following the Megan Meier case have said for weeks: Curt and Lori Drew might have to move from Dardenne Prairie.

"Living in the neighborhood may be impossible in the future," Briscoe told Matt Lauer.

Briscoe's appearance marked the first time anyone has spoken publicly on behalf of the Drews since Lori Drew talked to the Journal for a Nov. 11 story.Briscoe covered much of the same information presented by Jack Banas, the St. Charles County prosecuting attorney, in a Monday news conference. Banas announced no criminal charges would be filed in connection with Megan's suicide.

On Tuesday, a man identifying himself as Lori Drew's father answered the door at the Drew home in the Waterford Crossing subdivision.

"The Banas report is fair and correct on all the major points," he said, declining to give his name.

On "Today," Briscoe told Lauer about the harassment directed at the Drews.

"Mrs. Drew has had to close her advertising business because people have been attacking her advertisers, and they want nothing to do (with that)," Briscoe said. "They don't want the bad publicity."

In this day and age she may run but she cannot hide. She would need a whole new identy. A butthead call me today with a scam about my car warrenty running out. I really don’t think Lori Drew learned any lesson. I think there is something really wrong with her mentally. Her stories change all the time & if she was aware of the myspace as an adult she should have shut it down. The Drew's are morons if they think they can stay in that town & have a normal life. Karma!

I feel very bad for her children. Although innocent,they have the misfortune of having a mean, petty, spiteful and immature mother and, because of her ugly actions, unfortunately will suffer along with her.

From the new story that Lori is now spinning it was her daughter who did all of the talking & a former employee & some other teens. If so I don't feel bad for Lori's daughter too much. You reap what you sow...However she probably learned her meanness from the mother.

And she's a liar if she claims she didn't have anything to do with the account. If the story keeps changing, she's lying.
