1. If the 2008 Republican presidential caucus were held today between Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo, and Fred Thompson, for whom would you vote? (Republicans Only; Names Rotated) Mike Huckabee 31% Mitt Romney 25% Fred Thompson 16% John McCain 8%

Last I saw, 40% of Huckabee’s voters have Thompsone as a second choice. 40% go to home or undecided. 20% to other candidates. I saw that once, so I have no idea how true it is now.
BTTT
We all knew this would be an unconventional campaign, with no incumbents, but this thing is all over the place.
As a Rudy supporter (I know, I know) I am still hinging hope on the "big State" dominance, but to tell the truth if he loses Florida, I think that may sink him.
The problem I see with Fred is the fact that he really does not lead in any state. Of course that could change based on momentum, but Mitt really seems to be in the drivers seat if we go based on past performances of Primaries. He has the lead in Iowa, NH, and depending on the polls 2-3 more early states. He has the money, and the organization. Early "rumors" are that Huck and Fred have neither. McCain could also be a "wild" card.
I, personally, LOVE Fred on the issues, so I would be very happy if he becomes the President. This is no slam to you or any of his supporters, but to tell the truth his campaign scares the heck out of me, and that is the only reason I am not backing him.
Call me pathetic, or whatever, but I want to win, and although Fred is showing some sparks lately, I am just a tried and true believer that appearance, and style matter. I just don't know that he has it. If he does, more power to him, and to his supporters who have stuck by him, but his organization stinks, and I just can't see him winning. Sorry.
My first priority is to win the general election, because regardless of how good anyones ideas are, they must be elected first.
Correction to my own post. Just saw it (FOX News/Opinion Dynamics) Huck with 20 and Thompson with 10.
Come on FRED!
Go FRed Go!
Did you go to the link in my other post. We are DNC plants basically...
Let me know how the blood is after that...
Can you imagine if Romney came in third after spending over $7,000,000?
Be honest, I can’t argue with your logic.
I guess I just have more faith in Fred’s style, if not his overall team.
how often do you beat your wife.
100% of people FAVOR leaving iraq. Just that some people favor VICTORY FIRST.
Achieve victory in six months and we are a-ok to leave.
It makes sense as a lot of Huckabee's support came from Thompson originally, so it stands to reason some of that soft support could come back.
Its a wide open race.
GO FRED GO!!!
Every time I see Huckabee leading a poll it just makes me ill. How can there be so many idiots who fail to see through this phony? Are they Ross Perot supporters?
I saw that. They have lost their minds.
And also a pandering good time rock & roller plastic banana.
Yes, or the end of it.
That’s fair I guess, but keep an open mind if that’s how you feel. I think a lot of people are in for some surprises in the coming weeks.
Steady Freddy...
The FREDeration is on the move!!
Go Fred!
I think what bothers me the most about Huckabee is that the lamestream media is fawning all over him. That ALWAY makes me at the very least suspicious. In an obscure local race, if I\’m having trouble figuring out who to vote for (which is rare), I simply look to see who the local rag endorses, then vote for the other guy! Right now I like Fred then Mitt and after that I\’m at the \”plug your nose when you vote\” stage.
The major themes in the current campaign are national security, immigration, the economy and social issues. The candidate that hammers those issues day after day is likely to emerge from the pack.
The race is still a little to fluid to be making predictions at this point. My gut feel is that whoever has momentum going into the Florida primary may wind up winning the nomination.
