Fred is about where Kerry was at this point in 2004. Huckabee and Romney are about where Dean and Gephardt were. The MSM and their pundit minions are in their death throes of trying to throw cold water on Thompson. The next round of stories will be to the effect that Iowa does not really matter. It is New Hampshire. They are not going to go gently into the good night.

Any idea what this poll showed the last time it was conducted and when that was?

Wow, I thought I just saw a couple of polls where McCain was surging in Iowa and NH. This is better than the last few polls I have seen.

I have been thinking a lot about that late Kerry surge, where peopole realized that the front-runner was nuts (Dean) and had no chance of winning.

That surge, however, had little to do with Kerry, and more to do with Dean-a-phobia.

I can see Fred beginning a similar surge.

BTW, Huck is the nut in this scenario.

Definate signs of Thompson movement, but Huck has also gained in this poll. The big loser is Guiliani who has lost over half his support in 2 weeks

DEC 6 - Huck 27, Mitt 24, Rudy 13, Fred 11, John 6

Dec 13 - Huck 30, Mitt 25, Fred 13, Rudy 10, John 5

Dec 20 - Huck 31, Mitt 25, Fred 16, John 8, Rudy 6

2 Week Change - Fred +5, Huck +4, John +2, Mitt +1, Rudy -7

I favor a withdrawal, too. This is a silly question. It is more complicated than a simple multiple choice poll. While I favor a withdrawal, I only want one where we leave a stable Iraq having wiped out AQI.

It showed Fred at 13 two weeks ago. And at 11 two weeks before that.

I tell you. The chattering lass would not be so busy writing articles like the Simon hit piece or Buchanan’s baseless McCain endorsement speculation if they thought Fred was really not a factor. They are wasting barrels of ink on a guy who they swear has no chance. My advice: Don’t read their lips; watch their hips!

That surge, however, had little to do with Kerry, and more to do with Dean-a-phobia.

I agree that Kerry was the beneficiary of apprehension about Dean, but Kerry also hit his stride on the stump with a one-liner (I cannot remember exactly what it was, something like "We need to nominate a President, not just..." Obviously I am struggling here). Anyway, Fred needs that one-liner. I have it, but I don't know how to get it to him.

The only poll showing McCain surging in Iowa is that ARG outlier. Those polls are so kooky. No one pays any attention to them.

Just remember. Fred has Steve King’s endorsement. He is a hero to Iowa conservatives. But more than that, he brings with him a great organization in the 5th District, which is western Iowa, the most heavily Republican district in the state and a supposed Huckabee stronghold. One King is worth a dozen Tancredos in Iowa.

I favor not working another day in my life. I favor free food, housing and healthcare. I favor losing 20 pounds by tomorrow. I favor my lawn not growing more than 1.54 inches tall at any time of the year. I favor peace, love and harmony for the whole world.

I favor a withdrawal of the military from Iraq within the next six months. Heck, I favor Scotty beaming the whole lot of them home for Christmas.

IF THE JOB IS DONE AND THEY’RE READY TO COME HOME.

I’d feel better if we saw this in a Rasmussen poll. Survey USA has been all over the map on their polls this primary season.

As I said, I don’t really trust Survey USA to be getting the internals of their poll right.

So this article could read Beginnings of the Huckabee Iowa Surge:.....

All of you are just DNC plants here to destroy Mitt Romney!

That is all you people are!

Fred Thompson is a CFR loving loser and Mitt is the one true Conservative!

I am sorry I cannot have any part in this terrible plot to attempt to destroy the one man who is pretty enough to beat Hillary...

Rasmussen also showed McCain in 3rd place on Wednesday in Iowa. Fred was tied with Rudy at 8%. So who knows which is the outlier.

I’m not so sure polls are actually conducted. I think there are many lazy pollsters attaching percentages they want to names. Write a dumb editorial and voila, you’ve got people reading them in starbucks.
