Rice Rejects Huckabee Criticism--Huckster Bodyslam Alert

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a brief foray into politics, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Friday denounced comments by a leading Republican presidential candidate that the Bush administration's foreign policy is arrogant and unilateral.

"The idea that somehow this is a go-it-alone policy is just simply ludicrous," she said at a State Department news conference. "One would only have to be not observing the facts, let me say that, to say that this is now a go-it-alone foreign policy."

Her remarks came in response to a question about criticism from former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who has surged in the polls to become a front-runner in the upcoming Iowa caucuses for the GOP presidential nomination. Huckabee recently said the administration's foreign policy was characterized by a "bunker mentality."

I got my BS in Biology in 3 years, just after my 21st birthday. It says more about the hours I worked than my intellect.

This evangelical is rapidly opposed to Huckabee, and his whining about being attacked, and his not-so-subtle ‘Vote for me, I’m a Christian’ shtick, his lies about pardons, his dishonesty on illegal immigration, etc.

A social ‘conservative’ who believes in using government is just one election away from persecution!

Huck's socons don't care.

Nothing matters besides the fact he supports amendments against abortion and gay marriage...and the fact that they just plain like him.

Seriously, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS to these people.

If Huck keeps hawking his snake-oil, beating the preachers drum...even the silly grandmas who are listening to him now will bolt.

"Call him whatever you want, but you will be hard pressed not to call him an intellectual"

The Huckster didn't know what the NIE was, what it said or what the implications were for US foreign policy.

Did you read his article in Foreign Affairs? Probably not. If you think Huck's an intellectual because he graduated from Bible School in 2 1/2 years it's unlikely you'd be interested in the widely accepted opinion that he exposed himself as a neophyte and a DUNCE in that article.

Running for President and didn't even know what the NIE was. Sheesh. The man is NOT FIT FOR THE OFFICE.

“That said...I am thoroughly DISGUSTED by the way Huckabee has been treated by nearly every Republican I used to respect. The broken Party has no class and its lust for power has made it as dishonest as its enemy.”

Huck drew first blood.

"You say all candidates should run on Reagan’s 11th commandment. I was just push polled by Huckabee’s hired guns. In the poll they slammed all the other Republican candidates and lied about their positions. I was appalled and sickened by the tactic. I though Huckabee was a better man then that. The firm was Moore & Lee LLP 703-263-0770 out of DC. Quite the outsider." This is, of course, the ultimate irony. He talks enough about God to fool people into thinking he's above reproach and totally ethical. He has a mess of ethical lapses following him around since his days in Arkansas (check out the "gifts" he received while he was there sometime). Not only are his policies a mess, but even his ethics are questionable.

she has the class not to namecall as the Huckster did...

I wish she had the class to quit kissing the Palestinians asses and selling Israel down the river. She's going to bring some real problems upon this nation if she doesn't lose her anti-Israel attitude.

A year ago, I was a part of the "Draft Condi Movement" for President. But, after the past year, I wouldn't spit in her a** if her guts were on fire.

Well, I don't want to spend a lot time on this but I will give you my best shot. I just find this sudden frenzy to attack him so ferociously almost amusing :)... It seems as it there is a rush to make Huck into a monster here in FR.

There is plenty of time to see what he is all about and then people will decide. Just like many decided Duncan was not worth their time and effort... Fine, people will decide.

If anything people are showing that things are different this time around... We are not going to take the same crap as in past elections. The Internet has given people a tool to express their points of view and boy they are doing it with gusto! and I love that, etc etc, (sorry, did not mean to go so long)

“Does Reagan’s 11th commandment apply to Ron Paul?

Just asking.”

Don’t get me wrong, I was kind of hot and bothered with all the anti-Hucksterism. But as an answer, it sure does apply with me. I actually like a lot of Ron Paul’s stands on stuff. I’m just a bit bothered by his anti war stance. Bothered, but I understand it. In the end, if he was the nominee, I would get out and vote for him.

"Huckabee completed his BA in 2 1/2 years himself. He could have been 19 as well."

So why does he wear his religion on his left sleeve and wipe his nose on his right sleeve?

It is my observation that the MSM has imposed the religon issue on Mike Huckabee, not Huckabee himself.

I have not seen one article about him that did not include the fact that he is a former Southern Baptist preacher.

From the start I've loved, adored, respected, and admired this woman. What a wonderful example of “The American Dream”. From humble beginnings to the most powerful woman on Earth. Since the 08 campaign has started I often wonder how she would be doing if she were running. Too bad we will never know.

Personally, I don?t think she should be inserting herself into an ongoing presidential primary, I don?t care what Huckabee said. It?s not like she doesn?t have her hands full already.

Actually she was responding to a news media question regarding Huck's characterization of her boss. Good for Condi for speaking out and naming names.
