A fight that left one man dead in September stemmed from a language barrier, according to court testimony Thursday.

Both words are probably the same in English and spanish. It may not have been a language barrier so much as an ignorance barrier.

While this isn’t funny because someone is dead, it reminds of the guy in DC who ended up on the wrong end of the PC stick for using the word “niggardly” and resigning because people were offended by his “racial slur.”
Yes, we used to employ this particular “language barrier” in junior high.
Most of us quickly became bored with it.
Not sure I remember anyone dying over it.
Of course, we didn’t have the added stress of sneaking into a host country.
You’ve obviously never been to a bar. Conversations in bars drift over a wide range of subjects in a short time. They were talking about evolution. Ten minutes previously, they were might have been talking about Paris Hilton’s undies. And just before before that, the Redskins signing Alex Buzbee.
Also, it seems as though Molina used a “ sleeper hold” on the deceased. Before cops had Tasers and pepper spray, some departments used “choke holds” to subdue people. Of course there were the occasional deaths, lawsuits, etc.
