Senator John McCain of Arizona, whose bid for the Republican presidential nomination was all but dead this summer, has made a dramatic recovery in the Granite State 2 1/2 weeks before the 2008 vote, pulling within 3 percentage points of front-runner Mitt Romney, a new Boston Globe poll indicates.
[Snip]
Among Democratic voters, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois has opened up a narrow lead over Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, 30 percent to 28 percent. That, too, represents a major shift from last month's Globe poll, which had Clinton with a 14-point advantage. Former senator John Edwards of North Carolina remained a steady third at 14 percent.
The Globe poll also found wide disparities in voter opinion on domestic issues, with Republicans and Democrats expressing starkly different views on the government's role in healthcare and on whether illegal immigration is a problem.

There is an interesting discussion of the importance of various election issues according to Democrat and Republican voters on Page 2 of the article.
Huckabee support doubles. That should make people in here happy.
They always love John Wayne McCain in NH... that probably explains why NH has turned into a blue state.
There might be a bellwether here if the contests are close, in looking at how the respective candidates might fare in the general election, but that is a lot of “mights” and neither one of these dudes are going to be standing after Super Tuesday.
Check out the undecideds.
The evil that is Obama surges ahead, my worst nightmare.
I think he'll be harder to beat than Hillary. He doesn't have a history, he avoids taking a stand and he runs on "feel-good" platitudes (e.g., hope, change, etc.).
Character matters -- even if the politician is a Republican! And, Romney is the most dishonest politician to run for office since Bill Clinton.
His astounding 47% negative rating (according to Rasmussen) is proof that the masses already know what a despicable human being Romney is.
A despicable human being? Why, exactly? He’s not my favorite, but I’d vote for him over any democrat.
Thanks. You’re right on target.
Dear Cinnamon Girl; Go to Real Clear Politics . Com and read the Editorial from the Concord NH Monitor on why we must NOT elect Romney President. You will find out why he is “despicable”. Everything they write can be backed up by the facts.
P-S-S-S-S-S-S-T-T-T-T!!!! Did you know that Barack HUSSEIN Obama, the MUSLIM smoked pot and did drugs?
Did you know that he had an affair?
Did you know...
I think he’ll be harder to beat than Hillary. He doesn’t have a history, he avoids taking a stand and he runs on “feel-good” platitudes ....
No Way....first the piaps and then b. hussein....platitudes do Not change what most think but won’t say!!!!
The survey of 422 likely Democratic voters and 410 likely Republican voters in New Hampshire, conducted from Dec. 16 to Dec. 20, has a margin of error for each party subsample of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
I’ll say the same to you that I said earlier. Go to Realclearpolitics.com and bring up the editorial from the Concord Monitor that talks about “Why Romney should NOT be elected President”. Everything they say is backed up by facts and even videos that can’t be refuted by Romney other than to accuse the editorial staff of being liberal. You can’t say the Manchester Union Leader is Liberal and they say the same things about Romney. Ditto, the Boston Herald and Boston Globe. There’s a reason all the other Republican candidates can’t stand Romney and that is because be is a bald faced liar.
Piaps? Pig in a pants suit? I'm not sure what that has to do with Obama but I agree that the b. hussein factor is going to be hard for them to overcome. If your theory is that he's easier to beat then Hillary, I guess you are rooting for him and I should too.
So I’m guessing you are a Thompson guy or are you just an anybody but Romney guy?
