Giuliani Hits a Rocky Stretch as Voting Approaches
NY Times ^ | 24 December 2007 | By ADAM NAGOURNEY

HAMPTON, N.H. — Rudolph W. Giuliani has entered a turbulent period in his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, marked by what his aides acknowledge are missteps, sharp shifts in strategy and evidence that reports about his personal life have hurt his national standing.

A $3 million investment in radio and television advertising in New Hampshire, a belated effort to become competitive in this state, is now viewed by the campaign as a largely wasted expenditure.

A Boston Globe poll published Sunday found that support for Mr. Giuliani had dropped in New Hampshire over the past month, even before any fallout from the decision on Wednesday by an ailing Mr. Giuliani to have his campaign plane turn around and take him back to St. Louis, where he spent the night in the hospital.

Some of Mr. Giuliani’s advisers are frustrated at the extent to which his decision not to compete aggressively in Iowa has pushed him to the side of the stage at a moment when the political world’s attention is focused on the caucuses there that will kick off the election season in less than two weeks.

It is a terrible mistake to put him at the head of the Republican ticket.

No question about it. The best way to elect Hillary (even with her high negatives)--is to nominate a LIBERAL that splits and divides the Party wide open--while demoralizing the base. No one does that better than a liberal like Rudy. No one.

Ref. his headache--I bet he got it as he was looking as his latest drop in the polls (as he realizes that he phoney attempt to pretend to be a conservative isn't working and voters are FINALLY starting to realize how LIBERAL he really is)...lol

Rudy's "big state" strategy isn't going to work. He knew he was toast in IA and NH, as well as all of the other states preceding it.

Might as well get out of the race and profit some more off of 9/11.

Excuse me for butting in (on the subject of Rooty porking his mistress)............

"Excuse me for butting in........ "

Hmmmmmmm.......that sounds like something Kerik might have said when he was on security detail while Mayor Rooty was busy porking Jooty.

Rooty ordered the NYPD to stand around while he was cutting the mustard with Jooty.

Kerik was Rooty's hand-picked Police Chief ---maybe Kerik got to lick the jar when Rooty was done with it.

I agree there was something odd about the way Rudy’s “headache” was handled. I’d say they went to the war room looking for a strategy at desperation time.

My problem is that neither Romney, nor Huckabee, nor McCain excite me in the least. I felt exactly the same about Dole.

These all “lusted after liberaldom” in their hearts.

(Lusting after a woman = adultery....Jesus, ca 33 AD)

EXCERPT: Giuliani was acting on the recommendation of Ken Mehlman, former RNC chair....

'Kenny Boy' and Rooty are a perfect fit (no not 'that' way) (snicker). Rooty has signed up RINOs in every state. His Point Man in IL is ubber Liberal Ron Gidwitz (can't even call him a RINO). Gidwitz is best buds with - surprise - Mayor Daley of Chicago. Gidwitz ran for Gov and got trounced in the Primary with like 2%. All his ties to Daley came out and that was it for him.

This is the kind of team Rooty is putting together and this reflects on what his cabinet would look like -- AND what kind of judges he'd pick; Liberals, liberals and more liberals.

Liz has a superb ability to string together some most excellent invective when it comes to Rooty......She can spew a well turned venomous phrase, spiked with alliteration.

(Blush), why that is the BEST compliment I ever got.

Many, many thanks. I will try hard to live up to your confidence in my venomous invective abilities.

One of the key questions from the start of his entry into the race has been the extent to which Mr. Giuliani would open up this circle — a small, rarely changing circle of hard-driving New Yorkers, known for tough language and tough tactics — to advisers with national experience.

That statement from the article tells you a lot about Rudy. He has not opened up his campaign much at all.

That's just what we need in the White House--a bunch of LIBERAL BULLIES to help further Rudy's liberal social agenda (not to mention all his liberal buddies that he would appoint throughout his administration). He would have lots and lots of bi-partisan cooperation for his agenda. No thanks.

'Kenny Boy' and Rooty are a perfect fit (no not 'that' way)......

Now, let's reconsider that----did you know Kenny recently said he was "neutral?" Course lot of people think Kenny actually meant he got "neutered" (this was AFTER he got back from buying satin sheet sets at Bed, Bath and Beyond).

The new Kenny:

"G'ahead! Make my day, Republicans!"

Note to Rudy: Just in case you missed it, I do not want you to be elected president, or be the standard bearer for the republican party.

Please just retire from politics and join a big law firm.

Here in central Florida we’ve gotten one call from the Giuliani campaign asking if we’d consider voting for him. Uh, no thanks. We’ve also received one Giuliani mailer, a post card playing up his “strong leadership.”

I’ve noticed two Thompson, two Romney, one Ron Paul, and one Hillary bumpersticker, the latter on an ‘80s vintage Volvo. I had to laugh.

As for signage, I’ve seen one Romney in a front yard and the Paul people have put hand-lettered signs all over the place and bumper stickers on the telephone polls, which people have been complaining about on local talk radio as a eyesore.

Outside of the politically obsessed like myself, people still aren’t paying much attention, if the dearth of campaign material is any indication.

I had a long post I just erased. I don't want to get anyone in trouble or myself banned.

Just recall that the LA Times leaked its sitting on a major sex scandal about a candidate. I don't think its what the Enquirer printed about Edwards. If it was there's no reason for the LA Times to sit on it now.

That's all I can say.

If we draft Petraeus, we’ll have to have the guy who saved his life as his running mate.

I expect it to released right before the mega Primaries, like Friday Feb 1st. Or sooner for FL's Jan 29th(?) primary.

In any case they'll do it on a date for max damage, with no time to recover. 'That candidate' will be done for - forever.

Giuliani  = Liberal

Has our Party gone the way of the dinosaurs?
Have we lost our values?

If we elect a man who supports gay rights and is pro-choice, we can no longer call ourselves conservative.  Have we sunk so low that we would elect a person who dresses in drag?  Marches in gay pride parades?   Giuliani is a liberal running as a conservative.  He's pro-amnesty, pro-gun control, and pro-gay.  He is intelligent and has governed New York City successfully, BUT he is not a true conservative by any measure.  Conservatives wake up?
God help us if we elect a liberal
.
