**Could Bhutto’s Death Help Giuliani?**

No

If it helps anyone, in my opinion, it will be McCain.

Definitely a blow to the left.

This morning on one of MSM’s the talking head did note “Who do we want in the White House during a time like this?” He then started to to talk about Rudy.....I thought it was interesting, I got the feeling he did not think either of Clinton or Obama would be a good choice.

Despite everything I’d choose Giuliani over Clinton or Osama under ANY circumstances.

Please, to them anyone who hits what they are aiming at is a sniper. They are used to the cops filling the air with lead and hitting skin once. It was close range and an effective tactic.. They have his head.

“....the NYPD and NYFD are going to make him wished he faked his Vietnam experience like Kerry”

Do not confuse the rank and file NYPD/FDNY with the unions that ‘represent’ them. It is the unions that are attacking Giuliani, not the members (who tend both to support Giuliani and to vote Republican despite their unions spending their dues money supporting Democrats).

FReepers are too smart to fall for MSM spin, don’t do it. If you don’t like Giuliani, that’s fine, but do not fall for the idea that NYPD/FDNY = the union position any more than the “Jersey Girls” represent all survivors of those lost on 9/11.

From NR last month:

Since 9/11, when the problem of interoperability of first-responder communications systems became starkly apparent, NYC, NY state and the Department of Homeland Security have all spent goo-gobs of money addressing it, thus far with questionable success, mainly due to its technological complexity. Giuliani was mayor for eight years before 9/11, during which time interoperability, to the extent it was an issue at all, had to compete with various other budgetary demands. It has now been over six years since 9/11 and countless millions in federal aid, and despite the obvious urgency of interoperability and the work of lots of energetic people to solve it, it remains a problem. (See e.g., here, here, and here; see also remarks of DHS Sec’y Chertoff on, among other things, the challenges of interoperability five years after 9/11; see also January 2007 DHS Interoperability Nationwide Survey (remarking of NYC: “As noted by exercise evaluators, FDNY and NYPD command ‘are now using the same radios on the same frequency band, which is a commendable development.’”) We can hope it is worked out after all these years; we won’t really know until the system is tested under fire.

If anyone owns this GWOT , it is President Bush, however, Bush is not running for President.
I think Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson are the most qualified in this GWOT.
Both have a lot of experience in our INTEL leadership chairmen in Washington.

Who could possibly care?

It is obscene to think events of this scale matter most for who might become president in the US. Whether the most murderous bastards on the planet get nuclear weapons is the issue before the house. Would all the prima donnas please shut the heck up and step to the back for 20 freaking seconds?

" We’re very close to seeing India intervene, our troops trying to secure the Pakistan nuclear weapons, a Civil War, and the very real possibility of a nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan, depending on who maintains control throughout this event in Pakistan. "

Not a good scenario, nope, not at all.

The only 2 I would know that I am safe is : Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson.

I’ve got a bit of problem with blaming Rudy for the commo issues. If the cops on the beat and the guys in the fire house had commo problems, they should’ve taken it to their precinct or battalion commanders, and if they didn’t have the bucks to reequip their people with state of the art radios, the commissioners of the respective forces should’ve been beating on Rudy’s door for the funding. If the guys on the street only gripe and don’t do anything about, it’s rather difficult to blame the mayor.

" Christ! The poor woman isn’t even cold in the ground yet and she has become a campaign ploy. Stop it! "

And the last one to put their 2 cents in worth without making it sound like a political ad will look wise and gain respect.

Except for taking the Lord’s name in vain, I agree with your sentiment.

Is the election the only thing that matters to these people?

Since Ruty chimed in on this even before she became cold, he will look not tactful and he will look as being opportunistic.

On a unconscience level, this will put people's attention on the Republican candidates who otherwise were undecided or on the fence and would have or could have voted for the Democrats.
Most sensible people instinctively know the Republicans/Conservative historically are better on security, strong on defense and the military.
This put's the issue of terrorism back on the front burner again , immigration 2nd.
