I think this issue has more to do with mid-east unrest and looming regional war, which plays to McCain’s strengths.

Just curious...does McCain have any kids in the services? His family's record of service to this country is remarkable and perhaps unparalleled.

I would not doubt that Hillary would have said “ if I was President, this would have not happened to Bhutto “

You know I used to think that as well, but I’ve moved up to the NY area a few months ago and let me tell you. My landlord is a captain in the NYFD and him and his friends have nothing but total contempt for him. I’d be willing to put it down to every group has a few of those, but going to a few bars and running into firemen, oh my, they don’t even hate Hildabeast that much.

" Definitely a blow to the left. "
I agree, and the GOP primaries will be viewed with more intensity until the situation in Pakistani settles down.

BS. The majority of Americans have no idea what even happened today. Sad but true.

In away, I have to agree with you, most are totally clueless, and know more about what Paris Hilton and Brittney are doing today than what really matters in this world.
Sad but true.

it’s rather difficult to blame the mayor.

Especially if he is preoccupied with finding drivers for his mistress and hiding the funding in little known line items to conceal his theft of services.

No

If it helps anyone, in my opinion, it will be McCain.

Definitely a blow to the left.
I totally agree. It also can help Fred Thompson, if he plays up his experience advising the State department on International Security and Nuclear Nonproliferation. Though I don't doubt he will once again miss every opportunity to highlight that.

I think it benefits Hillary Clinton in the Democrat race, and hurts Barrack "Lets Bomb Pakistan" Obama particularly.

The biggest loser of all though is Huckabee.

Because it helps the others, or because it knocks him off the front page for a cycle or two?

Neither. It highlights the fact that he’s has no foreign policy experience and is just about the last guy you would want in the White House in an event like this.

The idiot APOLOGIZED to Pakistan for the assassination.

I’m not a Rudy supporter, but I almost hope he gets the nomination just to see how you people react.

LOL. Well, huge numbers of us will vote against him in November.

The American people have for the most part caught on to Rudy. He's weak, too weak for the job he's seeking.

A very large chunk of his support currently comes from women without any self-esteem and homosexual men. When he drops out, who knows where they will go.

Rooty is a One Trick Pony, his 9-11 schtick has worn thin.

As Rooty "humbly" said at the Iowa debate: "I'm just a really great 9/11 guy, a 9/11 hero who made a lot of mistakes, but everything was revealed and transparent in my hugely successful 9/11 mayoralty when I smashed the Mob, Wall Street fraud, taxes, crime, squeegee men and litter 9/11."

Rooty's old news and only morons would see Rooty as the sole answer to terrorism. His city was attacked, he didn't stop anything. His 'fighting terrorism experience' is less than zero.

By 9/11, the WTC had already been attacked, but Mayor Rooty placed a prime terror target--the city's emergency response center--in the WTC, which was just around the corner from his mistress' NYC residence.

We still do not have answers regarding the degree to which Rooty missed critical signals about the 9/11 terror attack while he was getting it on with his mistress (and trying to figure out where he should hide the bills for her upkeep from taxpayers who were footing the bills).

Unzipped Rooty in heat is something else: getting sexually blitzed was more important to him than the city.

Could Bhutto's Death Help Giuliani?

Connecting Bhutto and Giuliani is NOT a good idea.

This is yet another in a string of Mideast policy failures. Thanks to Rooty's handlers---the neopukes.

The "zany, fun-loving" neopukes got Bush to sink zillions of US tax dollars into Pakistan (as a pillar of US Mideast foreign policy).

And when Bhutto returned to share power in a Mideast (ahem) democracy, neopukes said "the people would throw roses at her feet."

Yeah, sure. And we're still waiting for Iraquis to throw roses at the feet of US troops for "liberating" them into democracy.

I think Thompson did this today. Good for him!

I agree.

McCain and Thompson took advantage of this today. They both came out strong. (Even stronger than Bush, in my opinion.)

“Because it helps the others, or because it knocks him off the front page for a cycle or two? “

Because his Pakistan response was lame-o. It reminded us that he’s an ignorant goober on foreign policy.

Huck is completely ignorant on foreign policy, and when he gabs about it, he sounds like Jimmy Carter. He will be a disaster, and closing Gitmo and stopping waterboarding is not the toughness we need:

http://www.redstate.com/redhot/dan_mclaughlin/2007/dec/10/nr_on_huckabees_foreign_policy_views_comments_enabled

“This is the kernel of Huckabee’s foreign policy. He wants to anthropomorphize international relations and bring a Christian commitment to the Golden Rule to our affairs with other nations. As he told the Des Moines Register the other day, “You treat others the way you’d like to be treated. That’s to me the fundamental issue that has to be re-established in our dealings with other countries.”

This is deeply naïve. Countries aren’t people, and the world is more dangerous than a Sunday church social. Threats, deception, and — as a last resort — violence must play a role in international relations. Differences cannot always be worked out through sweet persuasion. A U.S. president who doesn’t realize this will repeat the experience of President Jimmy Carter at his most ineffectual.”
