Peden files for District 14 Congressional Race

Promises to represent true conservative values

Friendswood, TX – Yesterday, Chris Peden, Mayor Pro Tem of Friendswood, officially filed as a candidate for the Republican nomination in Texas’ 14th Congressional District. Peden, a Certified Public Accountant and small business owner, was elected to the Friendswood City Council in 2005 and unanimously chosen by his colleagues to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

“The people of Texas’ Fourteenth Congressional District deserve a true conservative voice in Congress. They deserve a congressman that will support our troops and the War on Terror,” said Peden. “They deserve a voice that will defend traditional family values, always protect the innocent and unborn, and support lower taxes and a smaller government. They deserve a proven and true conservative.”

Peden is a strong fiscal and social conservative. As Mayor Pro Tem, Peden led the successful effort to deliver a $1 million dollar property tax refund for the citizens of Friendswood.

Peden has received early grassroots support from across the district. State Republican Executive Committee members Kathy Haigler and Dennis Paul both recently endorsed Peden’s candidacy adding to a growing list of Republican grassroots endorsements.

“Kathy and Dennis are proven Republican leaders, and they represent the large community of grassroots Republicans across the district backing my campaign for true conservative values,” said Peden. “The interests of the voters in our district have been ignored for too long and with their trust and support I promise to be a strong conservative voice for them in Congress.”

Chris and his wife Jackie have been married for nineteen years and live in Friendswood with their four children.

He is going to unseat Dr.Paul!

Big gov't RINOs have been gunning for the good Doctor since the '70s... haven't been successful yet, but who knows, maybe you'll get lucky this time.

Thanks for the post... I've been sending Dr. Paul much cash for his presidential campaign but you've reminded me to donate to the congressional campaign too - I'll donate today!

And how is Peden a “Big gov’t RINO”?

Securing America’s Borders

Fighting the Global War on Terror

Uniting America with One Language: Official English

Standing Up for the Second Amendment

Defending Traditional Marriage and Protecting Life

Preserving America’s Leadership in Space

Protecting America’s Farmers

Reforming the Tax Code: Abolishing the IRS

And how is Peden a “Big gov’t RINO”?

I don't know anything about this peden fellow... my comment was about the people who've tried to unseat Dr. Paul in the past - jorge arbusto, GOP establishment, converted dems, etc.

As far as the challenger this time around goes, I always assume that a politician is lying thru his teeth every time he opens his mouth, unless, like the good Doctor, he has a 30+-year track record that says otherwise.

To address your post specifically...

Securing America’s Borders

Same thing Shrub, McCain, JulieAnnie, Mutt & Huckleberry say too... you believe 'em?

Fighting the Global War on Terror

Endless "war" against a tactic... guaranteed to be never-ending. War is the health of the state, and the GWOT is a sure bet to make it even healthier than the Cold War did. How's them "wars" on drugs (70+ yrs) and poverty (40+ yrs) going?

Uniting America with One Language: Official English

Been hearing that one from the GOP since '96. They probably still say it, but they say it in spanish now, and I don't speak mexican.

Standing Up for the Second Amendment

peden's campaign promise against Ron Paul's decades-long voting record... hmmmmmm

Defending Traditional Marriage and Protecting Life

Fedgov shouldn't be involved in marriage and DOCTOR Ron Paul has protected more life than all the campaign promises in the world ever have.

Preserving America’s Leadership in Space

Our commercial space industry leads the world, but as far as the gov't space program goes, I'd pick Soyuz over the Shuttle to go up there any day... probably pick that CHICOM thing over the Shuttle too.

Protecting America’s Farmers

Gov't interference with agriculture is what's wrong with farming... Ron Paul has, does and will fight for farmers at the fed level (that track record thing again)

Reforming the Tax Code: Abolishing the IRS

The only way Ron Paul's record on taxes could be any better is if he paid our taxes out of his own pocket.

My reply to you is in good faith FRiend... your guy might make a good congressman - my guy has been a good one since '76.

It seems that Paul has drawn a couple of contenders and Lamspon has gotten a herd over in CD 22........

Fort Bend Herald

Primary ballots taking shape in Fort Bend .. Dec. 28, 2008

snip......
Challenges are expected in the Republican primaries for two of the Congressional districts within Fort Bend County. In District 14, always iconoclastic Ron Paul faces two Republican opponents, Friendswood City councilman Chris Peden and NASA contractor Andy Mann.

The possibility of unseating Democrat Nick Lampson in District 22, which includes most of Fort Bend County, has drawn eight Republican challengers. They are former Sugar Land Mayor Dean Hrbacek, former Navy officer Brian Klock, former Pasadena Mayor John Manlove, one-time U.S. Senate staffer Pete Olson, NASA contractor Ryan Rowley, former Houston City Councilwoman Shelley Sekula Gibbs, former Harris County District Judge Jim Squier and Pasadena State Rep. Robert Talton.
end snip

You won’t want to miss this rally!

December 28, 2007 Gnomes for Ron Paul

Political rallies and marches are nothing new, and online campaigning is a well known trend, but when the two come together with a bunch of gnomes, it’s hard not to take notice.

Grassroots supporters of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul have invited supporters that play online game “World of Warcraft” to join them in a rally and march on New Years Day. Organizers of the virtual event have scheduled the event to start in the snowbound city of Ironforge, so it’s sure to involve lots of gnomes and dwarves, before they march to Stormwind.

No word at this point if “Horde for Hillary” or “Orcs for Obama” counter events have also been scheduled.

I guess I have to explain the obvious to you.

1) Your pro-Ron Paul posts were not yanked, so the moderation on this thread was not related to your viewpoints.

2) Responding in the manner you did just ratchets up the flame war.

3) "Knock it off, both of you" applies to not just you, so I wasn't taking sides.

4) Knock it off means knock it off.

This case is different, we now have a real Conservative Republican working to take back a seat from an obstructionist, moderate libertarian.

It’s okay for people who live outside the state of Texas to donate to Peden’s campaign?

I believe it shouldn’t be a problem. I donated a lot to Diana Irey against Murtha.
