NASHUA, N.H. -- Former president Bill Clinton yesterday delivered in stark terms a version of his wife's central campaign message: that her experience in Washington better prepares her to "deal with the unexpected."
Addressing more than 100 supporters at a VFW hall here Saturday, Clinton used the strongest language he has so far in the campaign to describe the threats facing the nation, making an oblique reference to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and saying that the "most important thing of all" in selecting a nominee is the question of who could best manage unforeseen catastrophes.
"You have to have a leader who is strong and commanding and convincing enough . . . to deal with the unexpected," he said. "There is a better than 50 percent chance that sometime in the first year or 18 months of the next presidency, something will happen that is not being discussed in this campaign. President Bush never talked about Osama bin Laden and didn't foresee Hurricane Katrina. And if you're not ready for that, then everything else you do can be undermined. You need a president that you trust to deal with something that we will not discuss in this campaign. . . . And I think, on this score, she's the best of all."

Refusing to take questions from the audience helps...
No other candidate, in either party, has more experience compiling political and personal dirt on opponents, and using that dirt in dirty, under-handed ways. In that regard, she has more experience — and far more FBI files — than any candidate running. She’s the hands-down winner.
Hillary is G-d and can forsee the future? Good heavens, I would have never guessed! What else can she do, heal the sick and walk on water? WHAT BS!!!!!
I think it was pretty telling when Peggy Noonan said Hillary was the dirtiest campaigner/politician she’d ever seen—INCLUDING NIXON.
Why was that sob or his supporters even allowed in a VFW hall?
If our nation is ever threatened by a hefty intern who wants to perform oral sex on it, we’ll be sure and call Hillary - otherwise, she has no experience.
Oh, it still amazes me that Dems even speak at the VFW National Convention.
I thought he “loathed” the military? Doesn’t he know who belongs to the VFW? And a former president can only gin up 100 bodies for a speech? I have a feeling Edwards is going to surprise everybody on the dem side of the aisle!
Nixon was her role-model — the paranoia, the files-keeping, the enemy lists. But the Beast has far surpassed the Crook.
Nixon was just a moron, thinking he needed dirty-tricks to beat McGovern who he could have beaten without even campaigning.
The Beast is pure evil.
I’m seeing this differently. This morning, for the first time, I saw the Guillianni ad. It’s good (No, rudy is not my guy), darn good. Take that ad and put it together with the idea that billy boy does NOT want hill to be president and you have him saying that rudy is the guy to vote for. Is that a stretch? I simply do not see the self-absorbed goober letting his wife outshine him.
100 people? Dunkin donuts gets more than that when they have a two day old donut sale.
Clearly he means like the masterful way she managed the catastrophic damage caused to her own campaign following the debate gaffe.
There's a lesson for all to see.
How DARE you question her capacity to foretell the future...
She is omnipotent...
She is the Future...
She is THE QUEEN!
She will care for you, and do things to “change your life!”
I can’t stand it. Please get rid of these two from public life once and for all.
Why, hell .. I didn't know anything about this until I saw this morning's paper, an' I said, "Hey Hillary ... look at what's in the paper"
“Actually, Mrs. Clinton didnt even deal with her husbands infidelity. The woman has no shame or pride.”
Nonsense. She and Betsy Wright, Governor Clinton’s Chief of Staff, dealt with it on a daily basis.
Her only experience in Washington was in running Bimbo Eruptions, and that was never unexpected.
Another hot steaming pantload from the Washington Compost ...
