Office of Sen. Charles E. Schumer, via Associated Press
U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, right, shares a New Year's Eve dinner with U.S. troops in Baghdad Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 during his first visit to Iraq.
"There will be resolution after resolution, amendment after amendment ... just like in the days of Vietnam," Schumer said. "The pressure will mount, the president will find he has no strategy, he will have to change his strategy and the vast majority of our troops will be taken out of harm's way and come home."God help us! How did NY go so quickly from D'Amato and Moynihan to Schumer and you know who? Schumer is as dangerous as the other senator from NY. He wrote a book about scheming for middle class votes, Positively American: Winning Back the Middle-Class Majority One Family at a Time.

Mr. Schumer is the No. 3 Democrat in the Senate, where the war has been a major source of partisan division, and a judgment from him could influence the war debate when Congress returns in a few weeks.
No. 3? That makes him one worse than Number Two. Thanks neverdem.

Today: I wanted to show them we cared, that they had not been forgotten.
September 5, 2007 on the Senate floor: "And let me be clear: the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge. The lack of protection for these tribes from al Qaeda made it clear to these tribes, We have to fight al Qaeda ourselves. It wasnt that the surge brought peace here. It was that the warlords had to create a temporary peace here on their own. And that is because there was no one else there protecting them. "

I am surprised Schumer made it out of theater unscathed by either the troops or the tribes.

What the hell was that sick scumbag doing in Iraq??
I wanna throw up.

Can’t help but . . .
wonder . . .
if he will be getting any well deserved up close and personal looks at any IEDs.
I bet there’s some dirty GI socks around that would fit his gaping mouth real well even if it took half a dozen of them.
I’m not a fan of his.
Does it show?

"Mr. Schumer, who noted he was on only his second government-paid overseas trips during 27 years in Congress..."Because he is a politician, I would want proof of that.

Try as I might, I can’t think of any way the appearance of Chuck Schumer has a positive effect on morale.
