Make no mistake; Gov. Romney wants to be President of the United States. Maybe that is why I do not trust him.

Ooooowwww, don't poke that bruise!

THIS IS WHAT I SENT TO FOX - AFTER I HEARD THEIR STUPID COMMENTS:

“You are completely mischaracterizing Thompson’s statements. Fred is stating that UNLIKE HILLARY, Fred has not lusted and/or done ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to become president. And .. UNLIKE BUSH who loves to campaign .. Fred doesn’t think campaigning is that hot. People have to make a lot of sacrifices to campaign and it can become a real drag.

THAT’S WHAT FRED MEANT .. not your convoluted silly slobbering about Fred doesn’t want to be president.

PLEASE - CAN YOU GET IT RIGHT!!”

This is the first account I have read about this particular brouhaha....Mainly because I figured it was taken out of context by a ‘vicious’ media etal and I was assuming he meant he didn’t particularly relish the campainging end of this job.
I think he is the ONLY Pubbie that can ‘unite’ the party— he apparently hasn’t really p’eed anyone off and he does come across as an ‘adult’ in a juvenile setting...

It’s a good portrait of Fred Thompson - the public servant.

Great READ!

Let’s hope the sheeple can hear and that the press will give him some honest coverage. (My middle name isn’t Hope (literally) for nothing.)

Any conservative who reads and understands this article must support Thompson in the primaries. Nothing else makes sense.

Thompson campaign staff in Iowa state significant number of people identifying themselves as Huckabee supporters are “seeing the light” and coming over to Fred. Some Romney supporters doing the same, a few but not as many.

Staff member reports Fred Thompson campaign not as large as Romney campaign but in terms of organization it’s “right up there with Romney’s.” Says Fred peaking at right time.

"Any conservative who reads and understands this article must support Thompson in the primaries. Nothing else makes sense."

And those that do NOT support him are clearly more interested in Mitt's nice hair or Mike's religion.

They care more about "presentation" than "substance"

FRED THOMPSON is the absolutely perfect alternative to any other candidate. FRED should be every voters first choice, however, FRED would appreciate your support and if he happens to be your second choice, take one more look and read one more article and move FRED to your first choice. Create your arguments for FRED prior to the caucus you will be attending. Gather articles, take your laptop, come to FreeRepublic and we will steer you to evidence that FRED is the right choice for AMERICA! BE BOLD FOR US WITH NO VOICE!

GOD Bless you ALL and HAPPY NEW YEAR! May God guide us to the right decisions for the leadership of our Country.

FRED THOMPSON - NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERT (I’ll protect the American people and American values, whatever it takes to stop the Islamic-Fascists including water-boarding) - 2ND AMENDMENT ADVOCATE (’arming the People to disarm criminals and making available to the general populace superior weaponry to deal with domestic terrorists where ever and whenever they may be found)

INCREASE THE MILITARY’S STRENGTH AND SIZE (giving those brave men and women a Commander in Chief to be proud of)

SECURE AND SEAL THE BORDERS (don’t give sanctuary anywhere to illegal’s, don’t employ illegal’s, don’t rent to illegal’s, don’t extend credit to illegal’s, don’t give illegal’s rights they don’t deserve, report all crimes committed by illegal’s and deport those illegal’s who have already committed crimes against America)

LAW AND ORDER (enforcement first and foremost with laws currently on the books) – DENY FEDERAL DOLLARS TO SANCTUARY CITIES (enough is enough)

CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES FOR SUPREMES (those who will interpret the law, not create rights that do not exist) – PRO-LIFE ADVOCATE (nominate superior Constitutional Justices to overturn Roe vs Wade)

SOCIAL SECURITY REFORMER (reform a broken program that can’t sustain itself and will bankrupt future generations, with the added benefit of private savings accounts)

DEFEAT ANY DEMOCRAT AND RINO (any fool DemocRATS put up)

TAX SIMPLIFICATION (variety of choice for the tax payer)

WON’T PUT UP WITH CRAP FROM THE MSM (including stupid questions by moderators and pundits) –

“WE THE PEOPLE” CANDIDATE (We the People asked him to run and he stepped up) - PING!

MINUTE MEN of America

NRA of America

We want to know.....what the hell are you waiting for?

Your endorsements could make the difference in the upcoming elections.  If you haven't noticed, you have the perfect candidate in the race.  The future of stopping illegal immigration and the individuals right to bear arms are at stake.  Failure to give your support to the right person could cost all freedom loving Americans dearly.  Your members want you to endorse a person that will stop illegal immigration and secure our rights to bear arms.  A true conservative is the only choice, no liberal republicans or democrats need apply.

Everyone needs to call NRA headquarters / Minute Men headquarters today and voice our opinions.  I have.

"When I am president, I will build a fence."

"My idea of gun control is a good, steady aim."

He said what I wanted to hear..... There was still something missing. He did not ask me to support him. He told me what he thought about the issues. He fielded questions from the audience. It did not feel like a campaign rally. It was more like a lecture......Then the questions really started to creep into my mind, does this man really want to be President? Is he running for President or Secretary of Homeland Security?

He would be a fine president. However, as a candidate in the GE, I would be concerned. The MSM would turn an Obama vs Thompson race into Clinton vs Dole II.

Well, I'm a conservative. Before I can give my unconditional support to Fred I need a few things nailed down.

First and foremost, I need some sort of explanation of his vote during the impeachment. Did he really think that Clinton had NOT lied to a Federal judge while under oath? Does he think that doing so doesn't raise to the level of 'High crimes..'? Because it certainly was not the wish of his constituents as they polled at 73% to convict.

The only answer that makes any sense to me is that he voted to acquit in order to please his Hollywood buds. And that gives me great pause...

Just my $.02

No, Fred isn’t Bob Dole.

Bob Dole was put over the top by Ralph Reed’s decision to put the support of the Christian Coalition behind him, because he thought that Pat Buchanan was unelectable. (And subsequent events have proven that he was not wrong about Pat.)

Dole won the support of the convention, and promptly turned around and kicked the Christian Coalition in the teeth. Basically he told them to get lost, because he didn’t need or want their support. And he was NOT going to run as a pro-life candidate.

I don’t know who was advising Dole, but that was truly idiotic. He lost it right there.

Fred isn’t about to do anything like that.

You said — “Any conservative who reads and understands this article must support Thompson in the primaries. Nothing else makes sense.”

Well, I don’t...

And I don’t see any “absolute imperative” that I do. At this point I know I won’t support Rudy, nor Mitt, nor Freddy (not even if they’re up there as the final choice). So, I sure do hope someone better comes around, in the end...

Regards,
Star Traveler
