Calling for new tone on immigration debate.

DES MOINES, Iowa—Members of the Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition are urging presidential candidates of both parties to conduct the debate over immigration policy in a civil manner “that respects human dignity.”

In a Dec. 4 news conference, Connie Ryan Terrell, executive director of The Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, led a group of speakers who gathered to “change the negative, public attitudes and rhetoric which demonize and dehumanize our immigrant friends and neighbors.”

Ms. Terrell said this “destructive attitude has permeated our nation,” making the discussion about immigration a more “complex and difficult debate.”

In a four-week period, more than 3,600 signatures from across the state of Iowa were gathered on a “Creating a Welcoming State” petition, the group said at the news conference.

The petition states, “We pledge ourselves as people of faith and goodwill to stand with our immigrant neighbors who have come to the United States from throughout the world. Recognizing the moral imperative to welcome the stranger in our midst, we commit ourselves to support laws that affirm their dignity, preserve their families, and acknowledge the value of their presence among us.”

Yeah, let’s all be nice when talking about our illegal aliens neighbors. Doing that will make it much easier to give them amnesty. (BS!)

Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition

Some version exists in every southwestern state too.

Typically a bunch of leftist atheists who use church support groups to cover their activity and legitimize it.

I’ll give you the new tone.

You don’t pay your way. We don’t care to carry you. Go home.

No this isn’t Mexico and it ain’t about to become Mexico anytime soon. Democrats and Republicans alike both agree on that amigos. 80% of us do.

We ain’t racist, we just happen to own the place. If you don’t like our rules leave.

Americans first here. Everyone else take a number.

Simple enough?

She may as well call me a racist. It is what she thinks. Fortunately I don’t care what she thinks.

Baloney. There is nothing "destructive" about following the rule of law. And there is nothing "complex" about wanting illegals to obey the law and immigrate to this country the LEGAL way.

I knew this thread would blow gaskets but I had no idea how hard and how fast.

...human dignity...

it might be more profitable to squeeze stones looking for blood.

When libs ask for a “new tone” what they really mean is that conservatives should shut up.

Yeah, well I demand the same thing.  I'm a citizen of a sovereign nation and I deserve to be treated with human dignity as well.  So end the occupation of our nation and the demand that I help cover tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars worth of freebies to illegal alien interlopers.

Now that immigration is front and center, the bleeding hearts are coming out of the woodwork to claim it isn't fair to take illegal alien interlopers to task.

Bull s--t!

They stay home and I'll respect them.  They come here and they'll be dispised for the jerks they are.

“We the Members of the Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition, the people who drape ourselves in the clothe, expect you to submit to our charade of pious plausibility given to the rampaging pillaging class of politicians and their ever increasing raping of your financial resources, the assassination of your character, family name, cultural identity and spiritual foundations, all the while with proper meekness displayed in our presence, in an effort to comfort our pathological tendency to blame ourselves for all that is wrong in this world. Further, we espect you to forgo having your own offspring, so that the financial resources you create through your good efforts can be forcibly taken by gunpoint and redistributed to a criminal illegal underclass that we, the Members of the Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition, have a tenuous emotional connection to at this particular moment in time.”
