"When we contacted the Huckabee campaign for an explanation, a representative expressed surprise to hear the ad had been on the air." Why they would NEVER run that ad intentionally! They didn't authorize it, and they knew NOTHING about that ad running! They are SURPRISED...SURPRISED to hear that it ran, I tell you! /s
If the Huckabee camp is surprised, they have to be the only ones other than their most devout supporters.

Is there anything this man can do that isn’t a fraud? Oh well, at least he’s Christian.

See my post 23. The ad "ran" in many news outlets, though as news and not as an ad. Huckabee could not have been surprised that this happened when he showed the ad to the press with cameras running under the pretense that he did not want to run the ad. If he really did not want it aired, then he would not have shown it to the press.
< That's my major point...and the ad has not died in that context...it continues to live and I cannot believe that any major presidential campaign would not know that this would be the case.

I think it turned out to be a very appropriate shot across the bow of Romney's destroyer.

Well, my choices are Hunter and Thompson, in that order...but for Huckabee to come out and say he was taking the high road while showing the ad to the press is very dis-engenuous.
I would have had more respect if he had just run the ad in response to Romney as opposed to this talking out of both sides of his mouth. But that's just my opinion.

OK, if you don’t like “shot across the bow,” think of it as a nuclear ballistics test.
If I see real reasons to really doubt Huckabee’s character, I’m for doubting his character. In the mean time, I politically motivated mudslinging is what that is.
See you around JH. I think Fred Thompson will pull out a decent 3rd in Iowa.
