I am projecting Thompson the winner.
Go, Fred, Go!
He has been written off by the pundits completely, so if he can hang on over the evening and come in third, I’d be thrilled!
I think he could do great in South Carolina if he hangs on to a 3rd place finish in Iowa.
This just in from Fox News:
3rd place no longer matters. There are only 2 tickets out of Iowa...
Plus a free pass for 4th, 5th, and 6th.
Hope he does come in third. Let the Huckster and the Rominator bloody each other.
Republicans (2% counted): Huckabee 33%, McCain 12%, Romney 24%, Thompson 18%
Democrats (16% counted): Edwards 34%, Clinton 32%, Obama 31%, Richardson 2%
Thompson said he needed to come in second.
Good for Fred!
Sent my $50 to his campaign last night!!!
Tonight Im getting some bumper stickers and a coffee mug.
It could be called a live thread or some such thing.
I’m not buying this. This is an exit poll designed to depress Paul’s poll numbers.
The Democrats are pretty well split, 33, 33, 32.....
Fox is totally ignoring this. Thompson coming in 3rd is the story of the night.
Take a Fred movie quote to answer:
“Not bad considering..”
(Hunt for Red october)
My precinct was:
Huckabee 38
Fred Thompson 21
Romney 20
McCain 7
Paul 1
Hunter 1
BILL KRISTOL: “A deadlock Republican convention turns to the most qualified Republican of them all to be president on the fifth ballot, Dick Cheney.
And he wins in a landslide in November.”
So why isn’t Fred getting more news coverage. This is the second biggest story of the evening.
according to the media, Thompson was not running.
Apparently, he was not in Iowa since the media seems completely unaware that he beat McVain.
Third huh?
Third placers CAN win.............
1988- Bob Dole (37%), Pat Robertson (25%), George H. W. Bush* (19%), Jack Kemp (11%) and Pete DuPont (7%)
