Decorated Iraq war veteran Anthony Circosta seemed like an ideal candidate for a pardon from then-Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for his boyhood conviction for a BB gun shooting. Romney said no twice despite the recommendation of the state's Board of Pardons.

At age 13, Circosta was convicted of assault for shooting another boy in the arm with a BB gun, a shot that didn't break the skin. Circosta worked his way through college, joined the Army National Guard and led a platoon of 20 soldiers in Iraq's deadly Sunni triangle.

Mass., what can we say. When we were kids we had BB gun fights. Of course we wore sunglasses for safety so it was all cool. We did limit ourselves to Red Ryders which we had a lot of, and don’t shoot very hard at all.

LOL

If I had to guess, he’ll get his pardon, and rightfully so.

Well, ABC is certainly doing its part to try and finish off Romney. This is a hit piece, pure and simple.

I saw some stuff when I was a kid, and nobody was ever arrested.

Though there was this one time when my friend and I were out at 1AM, and were walking our friend home. He lived next to a store which had tools stolen from it a few times, because they were renovating it. We looked into it, said goodnight, then walked down the avenue. Lo and behold, some cop pulls up to us and yells at us to get on the wall.

The cop said the perps both looked like my friend, him tall, pasty white and lanky, me short with long hair and Hispanic features (yet I don’t look Hispanic at all). Turned out to be a non-issue.

We even had hand grenades (M80s) in a bottle.

Looking back, it’s a small wonder no one lost an eye or worse!

What was he actually convicted of? Assault or being a bratty kid? Good thing I didn’t grow up there.

Too bad his parents didn’t believe in spanking. The whole issue coulda been easily resolved. Sounds like he turned out pretty good though.

Since Mitt is not Governor, he can’t really do anything about this now. I presume if it’s such a good idea, the current Governor can handle it.

It’s not like the guy is in jail waiting for someone to take action.

Does Romney have an explanation?

Romney pandered to the Liberal's side. They died.

Probe: Mitt missed chance to keep Tavares jailed - Could have nixed killer’s early exit

Friday, December 28, 2007 - Boston Herald
"Former Gov. Mitt Romney’s administration failed to act on disciplinary recommendations
that would have kept ex-con killer Daniel Tavares locked up another year -
and behind bars at the time he was accused of killing a newlywed couple in Washington state."

"Despite Tavares’ long history of violence, the Romney-led Department of Correction
took no action on recommendations that he be stripped of “good time” because
of assaults on prison guards in 2003 and 2005, said sources familiar with a state probe into the case."

Willard is anti-gun so its no surprise he wouldn’t give a war hero a pardon for a BB gun accident when he was a child.

And the liberal puke wonders why conservatives can’t stand him!

I had a “Sweet 16” birthday party. The H.S. principal’s daughter picked up my brother’s BB gun and shot me in the stomach from 2’ away. We were both in a mild state of shock, but that was about it.

I don’t believe in pardons except for people convicted of non-crimes during political witch hunts.

I wish more Governors and Presidents would take the no-pardon position.

I don’t think you’re going to get much sympathy from FR’s seeminly many curmudgeon-conservatives.

Romney was too busy installing socialized medicine, gay marriage, to pardon the following vet.

National Guard Lt. Anthony Circosta poses in his backyard in Agawam, Mass., on June 9, 2007.
At left, his wife Danielle and daughter Kylie, 2, talk near the swing set. Circosta,
a decorated Iraq War veteran, seemed like an ideal candidate for a pardon from
then-Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the 29-year-old's boyhood conviction
for a BB gun shooting. Romney denied the pardon, twice, despite the recommendation of the governor's council.

Here in Assholechusetts the Governor is given recommendations from a “board”, I believe Mitt was trying to reform the “board” and get the politics out of it.
Nobody would have a job here if they were not “connected”!
This is another Hit piece, and in Boston, it’s all about religion! The Elites despise the Mormons, they (Mormons) despoiled the countryside with a huge butt ugly Cathedral.
Irish Catholics have no problem with going to church each week and supporting abortion and euthanasia simultaneously.
These are life’s losers here in MA!
