Candidly says on MSNBC: “You are absolutely right. We’re not competitive in New Hampshire. And we won’t be campaigning there other than to go in for the debates which are tomorrow night and sunday night.”

Makes similar statements on Fox. Says focus is South Carolina.

The economic and political center of gravity of this country has moved to the new south.

Iowa, a caucus started by an anti-war Democrat.

NH, overrun with Ma$$holes and college students from anywhere can vote. A great place for Matthews to go and skip across the border and get a Maine Lobster, ho hummm.

Michigan, we go so many problems, don't even go there, the State is Red, other than about 4 counties that make it Blue.

SC, that is where the rubber meets the road for us the last of the Reagan Conservatives, and then super Tuesday.

We need a Conservative Candidate that appeals to Indy's and Blue Color Dem's, not a Populist, Identity Candidate, and or RINO that will then appeal to the base.

If we go for the Huckster or any of the other RINO's the base will stay home and it is 06' or 96' Dole all over again.

Folks, it is Fred or the GOP as we know it is dead (figuratively speaking of course).

IF they or we give in and give up on Reagan's Conservatism, Ideals and Beliefs and redefine the party, I think may here on the "Freep" will no longer have a home in the GOP. I hope the RNC is lurking, if they haven't heard the wake up call from 06' they may never awake from their slumber.

C’mon, you guys. Quit fighting. Fred and Duncan are both good conservatives. Duncan MIGHT even be the better of the two, I’m willing to concede that as a possibility.

But he’s not the more electable of the two. If he were, I would switch to him.

If Duncan Hunter beat Fred Thompson and got the nomination I would be sad for Fred while at the same time cheering for the Republican Party.

But Duncan’s not going to get the nomination and Fred still has a chance.

In the meantime, we should respect both of them for being good conservatives.

And we should respect each other for backing the conservative of our choice.

Oh, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about... The stuff I’ve seen would make all of my old English teachers spin in their graves! I’m really not a stickler when it comes to message boards, emails, and such — I myself break all sorts of “rules” when I write, even at my blog — but when a professional journalist does it? That just gets to me — it’s their JOB to know grammar, style, etc...

I’m just flabbergasted at the amount of errors I’ve seen over the last few years — particularly among those who edit the online content at newspapers... That’s why I, at first, assumed that it was someone who spell-checked a typo and didn’t catch the word change, or really thought that granted should be granite. I have seen that particular error several times before, too. LOL

I totally agree with you! My “dream ticket” for ‘08 would be Thompson/Hunter! Let’s work on taking the “faux” conservatives down, and stop bashing the REAL conservatives, please???

Good move by Fred....his chances are better in SC...and, a win or good showing in a Southern state will help in the other Southern states.

Avoiding New Hamster may be a bummer for Fred supporters, but, you still get to vote for him earlier than most of the states.

Here’s the scoop on the real nicknames from NH’s official state website (http://www.nh.gov);

Nicknames
New Hampshire has 4 nicknames. The first is the one by which the state is commonly known. Granite State: for our extensive granite formations and quarries

Mother of Rivers: for the rivers of New England that originate in our Mountains

White Mountain State: for the White Mountain Range

Switzerland of America: for our beautiful mountain scenery

BUT... I like yours better! ;)

Thompson/Hunter

Can you imagine what Hunter would do in his debates against whatever leftist socialist POS dweeb the RATS happen to run as VP?

In a full debate, with the media unable to cover Duncan with a cloak of obscurity?

At the end of the debate there would be bloody pieces of socialist dweeb meat lying about on the stage floor, after Duncan got done slicing and dicing the leftist treasonous lies of his opponent.

Dont they have Live Free or Die on their license plates. I read somewhere where the libs are trying to get that removed. Too violent and not politically correct.

Yep, that’s the motto I’m familiar with. I hadn’t heard that the liberals were trying to get it changed — that would be a true shame, but I can’t say it surprises me all that much...

You’re right about that! Between Thompson and Hunter the Dems wouldn’t stand a chance!

Thompson/Hunter ‘08 — The best possible outcome, IMHO.

If these two would run Ads saying they WOULD push to abolish the Anchor Baby Amendment, they'd get plenty of press! AND VOTES!

New Hampshire is known as the “Granite State”, hence the phrase.

Maybe Thompson should give Duncan a call and try to set up a Thompson/Hunter ‘08 ticket right now.

That kind of announcement — and that kind of novel campaign — would be VERY hard for ABCNBCCBSMSNBCCNNFOX to ignore.

Seems Hunter should have spent a lot of time in Wyoming. He has spent some time in Nevada. He could have made noise in those two states and maybe created some momentum.

McCain is going to win NH by a huge margin, followed by Rudy and Mitt

How so? The independents that supported McCain in 2000 are now backing Paul. Plus you have Obama pulling in some more independents.

Grandmother once told me that if you didn’t learn something new everyday you might as well be dead!

Like they say, as long as you’re green you keep growing. When you get ripe the only thing left is to get rotten.
