Voter-Fraud Showdown
Oopinion Journal ^ | 09 jan 08

Supporters and critics of Indiana's law requiring voters to show a photo ID at the polls square off in oral arguments before the Supreme Court today. The heated rhetoric surrounding the case lays bare the ideological conflict of visions raging over efforts to improve election integrity.

Supporters say photo ID laws simply extend rules that require everyone to show such ID to travel, enter federal office buildings or pick up a government check. An honor system for voting, in their view, invites potential fraud. That's because many voting rolls are stuffed with the names of dead people and duplicate registrations--as recent scandals in Washington state and Missouri involving the activist group ACORN attest.

Opponents say photo ID laws block poor, minority and elderly voters who lack ID from voting, and all in the name of combating a largely mythical problem of voter fraud.

Since this will reduce voter fraud, naturally there is big opposition.

Just to make sure I've got the story right... Voter fraud is fake when it comes time to get people to prove they have a right to vote, and real when Bush gets elected. How can the media keep up with the story as they're supposed to present it anymore?

Voter fraud is the key election winning "tool" of the Democrats. We just saw this tool used in NH for the Hill.

The unique rules under which the New Hampshire Primary system works: You can move to the state one day and vote in the primaries the next. So-called independents don't have to decide to which party they are going to throw their vote until they enter the voting booth.

City election workers at tables set up to handle same-day registration rarely got a breather.

When the news re the shortage of ballots came out, most of us knew that the rigging of the vote was in. How many renta mobbers from nearby out of state colleges brought in to fill the auditoriums for Hill, stayed to vote, vote and vote for Hill?

How many union thugs voted, voted and voted for Hill?

How many illegal aliens were bused in to vote, vote and vote for Hill?

Will Je$$e HiJack$on and the non Reverend Al $harpton descend on NH to complain about a black candidate getting beat by the illegal Clintoon machine. Don't hold your breath.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

The highest voter turn out in history? Hillary/Obama polls the ONLY polls that weren’t spot on? NO voter ID required at the polls? Paper ballots to anyone claiming they live in NH? This was a Clinton Rope-A-Dope. They knew they would win with the out of state vote, so Hillary had to come up with a reason why. Hence, the puddled eyeballs before the election. Jay Cost EXIT polls notwithstanding, he DIDN’T ask and DIDN’T get an honest answer to the question, “Do you live in New Hampshire?”

Mythical problem of voter fraud? The poor, the minorities, and elderly people dont have ID cards? LOL! C'mon! I would think someone can come up with better excuses than that! Thats pretty weak.

Don’t ever rule out voter fraud where the Clintons are concerned !!

The polls on McCain were spot-on, but they missed the Democrat vote by a mile? I don’t think so.

Paper ballots to anyone claiming they live in NH? This was a Clinton Rope-A-Dope.

So it must be than that Democrats voters lie to pollsters and Republicans do not.

I don't see how making the poor get a FREE state i.d card can hurt them, and what do the elderly do when it comes time to cash the ol' socialist security check, they must show some kind of i.d., as for the minorities, why should they get a free pass on having to have photo i.d. for anything else in life that requires it, including voting.

"photo ID laws block poor, minority and elderly voters"

If they don't have the resources or the gumption top go get a photo ID, what makes these pinheads think they will go out and vote?

(Yeah, I know, the pinheads want to vote on their behalf...)

Yep, fake “feminine wiles” (sp?) as the CYA plan.

What scares me more is that no one sees the McCain “win” for what it is. The Democrats want McCain to be the nominee.

The dems do have ONE point. Their voters are LAZY... I’ll say it again - LAZY! That’s why they vote Dem in the first place.

I believe it was in this article (read it in print this am) that they gave an example of 32 people casting provisional ballots at some precinct without ID, and they just had to show up within 30 days with valid ID or an affidavit.

Only 2 bothered.

And, poor, black, and old people are too stupid to get photo-id. Or if they have it, they are too stupid to find it. That's the heart of the dems argument. The same ol' rascism.

According to the article you have to show ID for any kind of government check. Which can only make me assume they’ve got ‘em and just don’t want to show ‘em.
