Just the beginning.
In a few years, a diagnosis of high blood pressure will get you exempted from the Second Amendment.
Evil is never destroyed. It just changes shape and switches parties.
wheres the media coverage on this?
“wheres the media coverage on this?”
Everyone at Faux News is probably sitting in a strategy meeting, trying to figure out how to still get Giuliani elected.
I hate our current Congress. They are in no way a pimple on a elephant’s rear close to what they are suppose to be constitutionally.
NewsCorp endorse Kerry in 2004. Murdoch gave to Hillary’s Senate campaign, no?
Are you sure that McCain is Fox News’ choice in 2008?
I vote
I believe Bush said he approves this bill.
I think this will lead to further eroding of gun rights-something our gov't is experienced. If someone goes to a marriage counselor will this lead to not be able to buying a gun in the future.
Yet one more thing that disappoints me about a president I helped elect twice.
Exactly the reason we cannot settle for a Rudy McRombee. Moderates or liberal have no place in the Republican party. They are shape-shifters and morph right after election back into the weasels they are trying to convince us they are not.
They’ve been all over it. There is no bill named “the Veteran’s Disarmament Act.” The bill, in fact, restores the gun rights of veterans who have had them taken away for minor psychological problems.
More hysteria from the GOA. That’s what they’re good at.
The real name of the bill is the “NICS Improvement Act”. Here’s how one vitriolic antigun lobby feels about this bill:

For those who don’t want to click through, the title of the article is “Gun Lobby Hijacks Bill Intended to Improve Gun Buyer Background Checks”
given that everyone has been clinically depressed at one time or another, I wonder how long before everyone is banned from gun ownership. (’for their own good’ , of course)
I agree with you. I have gotten tired of pointing out that this bill did NOT add any new types of people that are forbidden guns and DOES add a way to get your rights restored.
Seems some people will swallow anything the GOA says.
If past portrayal of veterans, particularly combat veterans, is any indication the news media will be supporting the disarmament. The news media painted a distorted picture of all Vietnam veterans as psychotic, violent Rambos. In a sometimes more sympathetic light they paint war veterans as hapless victims of U.S. imperialism who are nevertheless scarred for life and in need of lifetime care and monitoring. I have seen several stories about the "psychic damage" being suffered by Iraq troops and how they will flood VA psychiatric wards, jails and prisons and detox units in the future.
OK, how do you stop a nut case from getting a gun? They’ll find one if they need one. If not they’ll find otherways to cause harm. (i.e. They can always load up a van with explosives.)
Some gun owner will call his congress critter and ask him to help stop the Veterans Disarmament Act and the congressman will say, “The what?? And have no idea what the guy is talking about.
Did Bush sign this into law?
IMO, Cindy Sheehan should start dating Carolyn McCarthy and they should ride off into the sunset and be gone forever...
I don't know.
Yes, on Monday.
I can’t support his signing of that bill.
